If I am Mo , I get the 4th line out there ASAP with the explicit instructions to Jussi to plant his #36 right in front of Marty when we have possession in their zone. Let's do what we can to get in his head early.

Biggest game right now. With the Devils having that extra game on home ice, it's pretty much whoever wins tonight moves on.

Found Marty's official team photo! This is real and unaltered, and exclusive to L4H on HFBoards!

I love me some "Bump-A-Marty-Party"!!! However, I have a bad feeling that anything that skates within 8 ft of Marty tonight will be in danger of getting a GI penalty. I'm sure we'll have at least 2 or 3 before the game is over. Let's just hope that it's not a difference maker in the game. It's too good of a series to let his antics decide the winner...

We must have the same Ruutu out there doing the same thing as last game. He made a huge difference. It seems to me we've got an uphill battle tonight, but let's hope we've got it in us to push through to a win...

PS: Monkeys want to dance in a big way and failboat is still off keeping ECUguy busy.

Looks like Babchuk will be a healthy scratch tonight.

Quote:
The Canes will make a significant lineup change tonight, it appears.

Defenseman Anton Babchuk apparently will be a healthy scratch. Babchuk led all Canes defensemen with 16 goals this season and had a team-high four against New Jersey in the regular season.

Clear visibility. Masts may be sighted on the horizon, or is that land I see.

You are so right! The monkeys are banging the bars and pacing ... (Great GDT title, BTW!)

Sutter gets last line change. If I were him I would throw Parise and Zajac out everytime I saw #33 step on the ice.

However, with that said, I do wonder what all the defense juggling is for.

To Hell with the Devils!!!!!!!

I hope this game is evenly handled in the context of itself and not on some pre-game lobbying and posturing. Can we just go ahead and kill the inevitable GI penalty that we all know is coming. Go ahead and put the 2:00 up and lets get it over with and play the game. Or will there be more than one?

This is a great series and I can't wait to see how both teams come out.

Bench Babs for Game 5 then bring him back for Game 6 where he will explode like Seidenberg did in Game 4. And perhaps Kaberle explodes tonight?

GENIUS??????

Due to a lower body injury, Canes forward Sergei Samsonov will miss tonight's Eastern Conference Quarterfinals game for the Carolina Hurricanes in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

According to Maniscalco, Samsonov did not make the trip to New Jersey from Raleigh.

per WRAL

how does that not get out until now... shouldn't MM or Chip have noticed?

No trolling here. I agree, borduer is a cry baby. He cried in 94 when getting knocked out of the playoffs, cried about Ovechkin's tinted visor till the NHL changed that rule, and cried about the Jokinen bump play.

However, Staal is an amazing diver. I will give you guys the cry baby stuff but eat the diving, because staal does every once in a while. Not that I have a real problem with it, I do it in my hockey house league for christs sake, if the refs blow the call, its on them...

Someone needs to put that quote about Staal someone on here said on the playoff forum, it was perfect.

To put it short: Staal falls. A lot. With or without anyone around him.

Sometimes it's harder to notice this on TV but when you go to the games, it'll often happen away from the play and you won't see it on TV.

Haha I was about to say that. That may sound like the homer response, but that guy really has trouble staying on his feet sometimes. Same goes for Tuomo Ruutu and Erik Cole.

Well, for the last game the GDT said "Game 3" and it worked out pretty well for us, so I figure some sort of error should be required from now on.

We have guys who embellish at times, like any team does, but there really is a lot of truth to the overskating thing. We see these guys 80 times and year, and guys like Cole go down as much when we're up 5-0 as they do in a 2-2 game. We all know that when Cole guns down the boards that he will a) try the swim move, b) swoop off-balance toward the net and c) go down at either his own speed or the opponent's stick. I mean I KNOW he will go down, just like LaRose loses his edge a lot and Staal, trying that balancing condor thing of his. I'm a pretty objective guy, and I am being honest when I say that once in a while it may well be embellishment, but most of the time it isn't. We get an unfair slam on this.

Fortunately, the officials on the ice being close the play realize the speed we try to play at and understand. Which is why we very rarely get called for this. I'd guess that we get called for this, over the last several years, on average less than 5 times a year out of the 82 games..

It's subtle. But yeah, it's like the Where's Waldo of errors. A small one, here and there keeps the failboat at bay. And I feel like I did check the schedule yesterday and it said 7pm, but whatever. Some girl once told me that the longer you wait the more special it is.

Yes but I got that condescending "that was quick" from the girl at the gym when I left. Cut my workout short because I was in a hurry to get home for the game.

Well...that and Boiler Room was finished on my ipod and I didn't want to start another movie.

I'm not to worried as Jussi will probably take his spot.

With that said, the puck is about to drop and I want to see LOTS OF THIS.
