If they score on this PP....game over. A 2 goal lead at the pace of this game would be like trying to run up a mountain.

I feel bad for Ward.. he's playing out of his freaking mind and he team can't even manage to score at least a fluke goal on Brodeur (although he's playing just as well)

Can't really ask for anything more from them here. Brodeur was just dominating

If he plays like this again, regardless of how many good chances we have....It's pointless. None of it matters if we can't finish. If Brodeur is as sharp as this next game, this series is done.

It's too bad I don't think the Canes can sustain the type of pressure they did the last 2 periods or so for 2 more games to pull it out. I don't think it's impossible though. But it's going to be difficult to pull this series out, especially if we continue not being able to finish and Brodeur continues to stand on his head.

Well, safe to say Brodeur was certainly pissed. This series has had the markings of 7 games since Game 2, and it still does after tonight.

At least, I hope it does.

I agree with that. I think this one is going 7, but I don't like the prospects for a game 7. Brodeur showed why he's the best tonight.

Before PO started i said i'd be satisfied with a 6-7 game 1st round exit after a tough fight.

Team did all I expected them to do. Every win starting with game 6 will be above my expectations.

I'm proud of Canes, where we were couple of months ago and where we are now. This is not even comparable.

Didn't like Babchuk not playing. Last game was great except half of the 3rd period. Not sure why we'd change that. In a series like this if you are gonna compete you need your best players in the lineup to fight through the slumps IMO.

Oh well, on to game 6.

Brodeur will get tons of credit tonight, and rightfully so (especially for the last 30 minutes), but I think the bigger factor was the defensive play in front of him. He made 44 saves, but I'll bet he clearly saw 40 of them. Their defense did not let us get any screen or redirect chances, with a couple of exceptions.

I'll say it again, our two top lines have GOT to find a way to produce. If Marty can see it he can stop it. Nice game by Cam in a losing effort, again especially in the last 30. I thought both goalies were a little shaky in the opening 30, but lights out the rest of the way.

Here's my reasons:

1-Babchuk has looked a bit spazzed this series. He looks like a guy playing in his first playoffs. (and no he didn't play a second in 2006)
2-Kaberle has more experience and can make quicker decisions
3-Babchuk got knocked on his a$$ by 5'5 Gionta, so I wouldn't say he's tougher than Kaberle. Likely has the same toughness if that.

Plus you keep your defense fresher by rotating the slower guys in/out. Personally I don't think Kaberle or Babchuk could hold through in a 7 game series. And now you hopefully have a pissed off Babchuk and he will just unload the gun Sunday taking out any devil that gets in his way.

Ugh. I think failboat has run it's true colors up the mast. AA Fire and Massive guns. It means serious business this time and it's steaming toward us at 25 knots ugh.

(not the best ship to use as an example, but you catch my drift)
