Whats funny is, we don't even need that pick.

Next season we get about 5 compensation picks (all 3rd round picks) for the old players we lost this season like Brooking, Milloy, Foxworth...

We always package 3rd and 4th round picks to move up in the second so i won't be surprised if we do that again next year.

As for this years draft this Saturday, look for us to take all defense now. Boy now we just need a few more defensive skilled players and we are a dynasty easily.

Ryan, Turner, White, Gonzalez, Norwood, Jenkins, Douglas, Baker and the rest of the O Line, Mughelli.... offense is too good. Matt Ryan will EASILY lead to team to a superbowl very very very soon. It would be EASILY x10 if we just had a few more good defensive players.

Out of the 4 major Atlanta Sports teams, the Falcons look the best to win something and to win it soon.

This is going to be a great Atlanta sports season in 09 with the Falcons and Thrashers. I cannot wait!!!

BTW, Falcons have the 3rd hardest schedule this season so lets see how this all pays off.

I am AMPED for Falcons football next year.

Shoulda beat those damn Cards last year, but this year.....the goal has to be Super Bowl. They can do it.

We definitely have the right play calling and some big pieces. Now if we can just fill in the little spots it'll be time to get back to the big show.

The Falcons and Chiefs may not be done dealing. Per a league source, Pioli and fellow Atlanta GM Thomas Dimitroff (a former Patriots executive), may be looking to help each other out. Based on rumblings we're hearing from WFSM in Atlanta, the Chiefs and Falcons may still be working on a deal that could send defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey to Atlanta for the 24th overall and 90th overall selections.

omg omg omg

omg omg omg

if this happens i will go crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg if Dimitroff pulls this off he is officially the best GM Ever!!!!!!

I hope Dimitroff is not finished dealing because the defense needs reinforcements with the loss of Brooking, Foxworth and Milloy.

Hopefully the Dorsey deal goes through but after that they need secondary help.

Do not deal for Dorsey. That is to much. Trust in Dimitroff to get some talent in the draft.

You get better through the draft!!!!

Dorsey is a good player don't get me wrong, but I don't do the deal. I would rather pick up a starter and quality back up with the two picks and I don't want dorsey's contract.

As far as Tony G goes I have mixed feelings. On the plus side it is another offensive weapon that will help the passing game and play action passing game. On the minus side is his non existant blocking and what damage it could cause the team's rushing attack.

Ben Hartsock is the blocking TE. Gonzalez is a 4th WR. How many LBs in the league can cover Gonzalez? He's the best TE in the game and a HOFer. You don't turn down players of that caliber when you have the chance to get them.

BTW, he is arguably the best tight end ever.

anyway, we took cornerback Chris Owens in the 3rd round.

I like what we did this draft, we needed defense and we went out and drafted defense.

Gonzalez is an amazing tight end and I'm glad we've got him now; however, since we're on the discussion of who's the best tight end, I'd always take Jason Witten over him.

Now why is that? Witten is no where near as good as the best tight end of all time. Witten is good though but not better. Maybe, arguably now, but still Gonzo never seems to decline.

Gonzo had over 1000 yards and 10 TDs last season...... on the CHIEFS

because witten is more well-rounded. Sure i'd take gonzo any day for a pure receiving TE but i think witten does everything else much better.

Yea for sure. I ain't trying to sound like a homer cause we just got Tony, but he probably is gonna go down as the best tight end ever. He never won a playoff game in his career. Maybe with us, he will do more then that.

Man, if this team only had a top 15 defense. Then you could gift wrap us a superbowl. The D will def improve this season though, i know it.

As much as I hate the guy, I think Schultz has the situation called right:

Time for Blank to pay up- you don't pay a top 10 wide receiver in the league the same as an unproven rookie.

He's has 2 good seasons and 2 bad seasons. Which is the real Roddy White? He needs to be at camp. It's not like he's negotiating his contract from his dinner table himself.
