Do you want Gainey as GM next season?

Now that we saw his post mortem and what he had to say, i respect him very much, he's definitely out of the game when it comes to being a coach but i think he's made a lot of good moves when it comes to being a GM.

If he hires an experienced nhl coach for next season i will be very happy and would love to see him as GM of the habs for the next seasons to come.

Yes. He's improved the team since he came. He's patient, too patient sometimes, but going forward I have faith in him.

No, he's let enough players walk to fill an allstar team plus one coach.

Ryder, Ribs, Streit, Souray, Julien
lol

Yep, but I'd like a complete change of coaching staff. I want a coach who will be able to bring a system with him, and we need a coach for defensemen.

Yeah. And for those of you of only cares about the "what have you done for me lately", Tanguay, Lang and Schneider were great assets this year. Injured a lot, unfortunately, but they were very good.

Yes I want Bob Gainey back, and for those of you who don't want him back, please give me the names of 2-3 more qualified possible replacements!

Yes, as GM, not as coach. I think this offseason will actually be the best judge of whether he can build a Cup winner here in Montreal.

I'm willing to give him another chance even if I'm not his biggest fan. I didn't like many of his moves. I didn't like him as a coach too... but I don't really see who could replace him right now. So keep him for another season. If the team does not improve, then it will be the time to fire him.

He will be back!!! Food for thought...last year we were 1st in the conference, and the B's were 8th...this year it got reversed....these things can happen quickly in the cap world, and when injuries occur anything can happen...BG will have a better team next year, with better results! Patience boys, patience...

i would settle for even the name of 1 more qualified replacement.

Gainey is the best GM for the habs right now.

I don't like seeing him take so much abuse.

At this point I wouldn't mind him going to Florida and building a cup-winning team that plows through the Canadiens to win it all.

I'm sick of the media and their bs... and also the hyper critical fans who only point out the bad

I don't know how many of you play poker, but seriously, being a GM is like playing poker.

You can take all the good decisions, always, and end up losing money at the end of the day. However, in the long run, you'll make a lot of cash.

This is Gainey. Lang, Tanguay, Schneider and Laraque were very good additions to the team. He got in the hand in the lead, then, somewhere along the turn he got burnt, and the river made his hand even worse.

Gainey, overall, is making this team better. Lots of stuff happened this year that NOBODY could foresee. Lang, Tanguay, Schnieder and Laraque all got hurt, plus most of the team, without speaking about the groin injury madness during camp.

Now, in the post-mortem PC, Bob clearly explained that he had to take the information of this year and closely examine it with a clear head instead of just jumping to conclusions immediately and doing something stupid. That we must make the difference on what happened this year and what the players can actually bring and will bring to the team.

I know that's the kind of GM I want. Not some Milbury dong who jumps to conclusions and just trades everybody whenever something happens. And in a market like Montréal, somebody being able to keep a clear head is worth more than gold.
