Yes. He signed with the KHL. His cap hit was gone when he was waived.

When we update Sturm, can we remove Ersberg too?

As were watching the Kings dominate the flames..I have a quick CAP question for next season. Since next season the CBA expires, I have read that teams cannot use the "bonus cushion"..is this true?

As we know Schenn's CAP hit is at 3.14 but most of that is bonuses so I'm curious.

Thanks.

Yes, there is no bonus cushion next season. It will be a hard cap next year. The Kings will have plenty of space.

Plenty? Not after DD, JJ, Simmonds get their raise and possible re-signing of Zeus, JW (I think he's coming back) Poni...plus, a potential 6+M winger for Kopi..

The Kings will be at the CAP limit next season.

Need to update contract status for both Vyacheslav Voinov & Andrei Loktionov. They both qualified for an entry level slide which extends through the 2012-13 season.

http://capgeek.com/players/display.php?id=1035
http://capgeek.com/players/display.php?id=1036

CBA reference: Section 9.1 (d) (P. 23-24)

If a player aged 18 or 19 signs an entry-level contract with a club (with his age calculated on Sept. 15 of the year he signed the contract) but does not play in at least 10 NHL games, the contract will "slide" or be extended one year. The extension does not apply if the player turns 20 between Sept. 16 and Dec. 31 in the year he signed the contract.

Depending on the contract's structure, the player's cap hit can be affected either by an increase or a decrease. Players who sign at age 18 can have their contract extended (or "slide") two seasons.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the "bonus cushion" only really applies to teams that exceed the cap by bonuses that are obtained, no?

So we can keep Schenn and exceed the cap, as long as he doesn't hit any bonuses that put us over.

Telos, maybe I'm crazy but isn't Voynov in the last year of his ELC?

That's what I thought, and it is how it was listed at the start of the year but then someone told me it wasn't:

Capgeek also shows both Loktionov and Voynov as retaining all 3 years still as well. Someone needs to confirm this lol.

You still have JJ and Bernier listed on the 2011 RFA table.

Sabres fan coming in peace ....
Would the Kings be interested in Tim Connolly and/or Jochen Hecht? AHL prospects?
If so, what would the Kings give back?
Sabres fans are hunting for a 1st/2nd line center

You read that wrong ... i wasn't suggesting we want a 1st/2nd line center FOR Connolly and Hecht. That "1st/2nd line center" was more of a side note really.
