I hope you're a Ducks fan because its probably unlikely Vancouver touches that with a 6.5 foot pole. SOB has really stepped it up and is starting to return to the form that drew a first rounder instead of Lukas Krajicek.
I can see Dallas trying to acquire a D-man through trade if they can't find one on the open market. Who, I don't know. Maybe they go after Kaberle in Toronto. He's just an example.

I think if Dallas is going to get a d-man, it's going to be someone who has the potential to replace Zubov when he retires. Not saying he'll be like Zubie but someone along those lines.

It's pointless for Dallas to acquire Kaberle. Burke is going to ask for serious overpayment (ex. Neal + 8th overall) and the Stars management is basically craving to pick in the top 10. It's been over a decade since they last pick within that range.
All the Stars need is to add another veteran D-man. Not necessarily a superstar but someone that can stabilize the young defense.

Why is this considered a serious overpayment? Kaberle is a 1st line d-man just coming into his prime.

Neal is a 21 year old gritty top six winger who can potentially score 30+ goals if paired up with someone like Richards and the 8th overall pick could very well be either OEL or Cowen. Also, Burke will definitely ask for a prospect to be included in the deal. All that for a 31 year old D-man with a 2 year deal and who could very well NOT resign in the West once that great contract is done. That's why it's overpayment!

That's an overstatement IMO. Burke will want a solid return for Kaberle but if and I say if the 8th pick is included I don't think the rest would be as significant. I think a decent prospect and the 8th would about get it done.
Lecavalier is traded to Toronto for next to nothing. The city of Toronto goes nuclear. Meanwhile, Tampa's press conference consists entirely of Brian Lawton laying a Montreal Canadiens flag on the ground, dropping trou, and unleashing a massive turd right in the middle of the H.
Lecavalier proceeds to never really recover from his shoulder surgery and has a decent, but disappointing run with Toronto. By the time the Leafs are done with their rebuild, Lecavalier's cap hit has become an albatross.
This does not stop the media for clamoring for the Canadiens to acquire Lecavalier and his six remaining years of contract, but cooler heads prevail in the organization...

If the Flyers somehow win the cup this year it'll be pretty obvious they'll resign Biron however, barring that miracle I think they will make some sort of deal for Lehtonen.
I can see one of these 3 scenarios happening:
#1 - JVR for Lehtonen + a pick (2nd or 3rd probably)
#2 - Lupul + 1st for Lehtonen + 2nd (Alt moves up about 15 spots plus gets a 25/50 24 year old wing)
#3 - Lupul for Pavelec
Evidently the 2 teams were close to a deal at the deadline but they couldn't get the salaries to work out for Philly to remain under the cap (Biron probably had to go the other way and may not have been willing to waive his NTC). The 2 teams were scouting each other the last few games of the season too so there appears ot still be interest in making some sort of deal between the 2 teams.
Philly will not trade JVR so soon after signing him but I'll play along:
#1 Philly would need to add the pick not Atlanta
#2 Replace Lupul with JVR to get Atlanta interested.
#3 Probably the most realistic of the proposals and the most realistic that it might happen.

Wow...no chance the Stars do that. Neal's an awesome, big, young, top 6 guy. These are the guys you kill yourself to draft. No chance they part with him. Him and their 1st? For Kaberle? I'm guessing the Stars would rather not.
