Please get better soon Harry! Watching the Phillies is not the same without you.

He is more important to my enjoyment of watching the Phils than any single player is.

The look on his face after saying that is just priceless. A sheer "they did it, they really did it" moment.

610 reporting he just passed away.

At least he got to see them win the Series.

This is really, really sad.

Harry Kalas passed away. What a shame. At least he got to call the World Series last year.

Rest in Peace Harry.

Quote:
Philadelphia Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas has died at the age of 73, team president David Montgomery said Monday.

Kalas, who also filled a voiceover role for NFL Films since 1975, was taken to a hospital Monday after passing out in the broadcast booth before Monday's game against the Washington Nationals.

The 73-year-old Kalas, known for his distinctive "Outta here!" call on home runs, was found by the Phillies director of broadcasting at about 12:30 p.m., Montgomery said.

These things don't usually make me feel any different, but this one did. I've known Harry's voice all my life.

I always imagined him retiring before he died, eventually turning it over to someone hopefully other than Wheels. This is so friggin weird.

I wonder if Jim Jackson would mind picking up a few games...

I'm devastated. The year after they win it all, he's gone just like that. I'm at a loss for words. This absolutely sucks.
