Oh man, don't know what to say about this. Numminen deserves a much better fate. First time in like.. ever, he finally has a shot at his first ring and then this happens.

Dallas Stars defenseman Teppo Numminen is out for the season and hockey career may be over after he was diagnosed with a dilated aorta (one of the large arteries leaving the heart).
There are reports that Numminen is expected to announce his retirement at a 1:30 press conference, but that hasn't been officially confirmed.
"We're disappointed for Teppo that this condition has sidelined him from playing," Stars GM Doug Armstrong said in a press release. "Our primary concern at this time is Teppo's health. Thankfully they caught this problem now and he can work with doctors to correct it and live a long, healthy life. Hopefully he can come back and play hockey soon, but our main focus is helping Teppo fix and recover from this condition."
The 35-year-old native of Finland was acquired by the Stars in a trade last summer. He had three goals and 13 assists in 59 games with the Stars this season. For his NHL career he has 111 goals and 439 assists in 1,157 games.
Oh man, don't know what to say about this. Numminen deserves a much better faith. First time in like.. ever, he finally has a shot at his first ring and then this happens.
I'm willing to bet that hockey is the least of his concerns.
Horrible news for a classy player who deserves a much better fate than this. I hope Teppo gets well soon and can at least lead a comfortable life, and hopefully more than that can resume his hockey career.
Terrible news indeed. Best of luck for Tepo through all this, I hope he makes a full recovery hockey aside the number 1 concern is his Health, thoughts and Prayers are with him and his Family.
Just awful news for one of my favorites. He's quietly gone about being one of the better dmen in the league during his career, and one of the best guys. You can only hope for good things for him.
