SKos needs surgery, AKos not going to WHC

The Montreal Gazette is reporting that Sergei Kostitsyn will likely need shoulder surgery because of that Aaron Johnson hit against Chicago (Tanguay is also getting shoulder surgery) while Andrei has turned down playing for Belarus at the World Championships.

This whole team is either going under the knife, recently had to go under the knife or is suffering from some other lingering back, groin or head injury...wow

Yeah there were a ton of injuries. Koivu was playing with an abdominal injury. Definitely explains why SKos isn't going to Hamilton or playing with Belarus and it doesn't seem Andrei wants to play with Grabs.

Habs' players have five months to take care of some of their injuries and hopefully start next season healthy.

It's going to suck for Belarus at the Olympics if they have to choose between the Kostitsyn brothers and/or Grabovski.

Damn.

Koivu, S. Kostitsyn, Tanguay, Lang, Laraque, Markov, Komisarek, Latendresse, Schneider, Bouillon...all were injured or were playing injured.

Damn

Am I forgetting anyone?

If they take Grabo, it will benefit the teams who play a team that Belarus has already played, since they'd likely be missing their best defenceman.

I think you've gotten everyone that's been reported anyway. This team was just too banged up going into the playoffs. Unfortunate, but we had a bad injury year this season.

Brisebois, according to a TSN report before a game #2 or game #3.

How does a team have that many injuries at one time?

Michel Bergeron I think was screaming how it was ridiculous for S.Kost not to go play in Hamilton after we got eliminated or when he was with us but not playing.

Yet another example of how he knows absolutely nothing and speaks before getting any facts.

Pacioretty is also injured

Read the last paragraph:
Notes: The Montreal Canadiens have made the decision to shut down Max Pacioretty (groin) and Sergei Kostitsyn (shoulder) for the rest of this season because of their injuries.

Yeah, apparently Patches has a sports hernia and he may need surgery as well. I imagine the Canadiens want to shut him down so that he can be ready for training camp. That injury can take a while to heal.

I hope nobody rips Gainey on not holding full practices anymore.

Everybody was dead.

LOL It sure seems that way. What's the point of having a practice with like 12 players? Everyone was injured.

How come we did not have any serious injuries last year ( saku 3 weeks before end of season, and markov also for 3 weeks at the 60 games mark), It is not just a matter of conditioning. It is also about luck

I just got home. I saw both Kostitsyn brothers outside Globe Restaurant on St. Laurent.

Spoke to Andrei briefly. Nice guy.

I didn't mention the playoffs or the season. I just congratulated him on making the nhl and wished him best of luck for the future.

He said thank you, and shook my hand and then I left to go back to the club I was at.

Was Latendresse hurt in the playoffs? I've missed that news completely.
