Even when we protected Carey real well....he'd still let in a back-breaker....seriously man, look at it in perspective...every other goalie still playing has had to bail their D out time and time again, (including teams like Detroit, Vancouver, and NJ which are known for good/great D)...that's the key...gives their teammates confidence which relaxes everyone on the bench, which leads to confidence, which leads to better play...this isn't just my opinion, this is reality and Carey simply hasn't provided it much since x-mas...

Can we still trade him or is it too late? Is buying his contract an option?

Halak homer alert.....
These threads need to stop.
He is the only goalie in the league that needs too steal every game (from the #1 team in the east and #2 in the league)..... otherwise he is a bum and a complete bust....
give me a ****ing break already.

Yup.
Carey Price simply can't stop the fourth consecutive break-away against him. Every team in the league gives up 4-5 break-aways a period and every goalie always bails them out every break-away. It's a testament to Carey Price's mental resolve and conditioning that he always seems to get beaten on the fourth or fifth break-away attempt. We can't go anywhere in the play-offs with a 21 year old goalie who can't save 5 consecutive break-aways.

I'm finding the Henrik Lundqvist story in New York terribly instructive.

Henrik bailed the Rangers out all year... and he's starting to look terrible now that he can't.
