I don't know...he can fight....sign and dress him against tougher teams. Take the 4 million we were going to give Komi and 4 to Koivu and sign JayBo?

Brisebois was the worst defencemen we had all year long. I don't care if he scored a few goals on the powerplay, the bottom line is that he is too weak, soft and old to play solid defence, he gives the puck away in his own end on average 3 times a game. He never gets a shot through at the blueline, always hits shin pads and creates a turnover. He never checks anybody and he is scared to get hit as well. His passes from inside his own zone get intercepted more often than not. He makes the same mistakes that he has made his whole career.....mistakes that a rookie like O'Byrne has never even made.

Dandenault is an awful defencemen but he at least works hard and will play the body. He is even worse as a forward in my eyes. There is no room for a guy like him on the Habs roster IMO. Either he needs to step up and be a better defencemen or he needs to go. He isn't good enough at playing forward to take icetime from younger players who are as good now or better than Dandy already.

Boullion is Boullion. Its the same old thing for him. He's too small to do an effective job at playing defence. He tries hard and plays as tough as he can, but being 5'9'' and getting pushed around by other teams forwards isn't good. He is an overpaid 6th defencemen and its time for him to find another place to call home. He has had way too many big injuries in the last 4 years. He's not getting any younger, healthier or bigger....time to part ways.

i'd take a flyer on him for >1m... maybe even a deal similar to breezer's (750k +750K in bonuses).

the guy is tough, though often crosses the line (which as disgusting as it is from a sportsmanship pov, might come in handy next time Laraque won't break his 'code' to go after a Lucic or anyone else taking liberties on our players).

he does have decent hockey skills, injuries have slowed him down a bit, but perhaps the motivation of playing "at home" would help him have a mini career resurgence. worth the risk imo, if he's willing to come in as a 7th dman and at the according salary.

definitely a more useful asset to have than brisebois was this past season.

Now that he has run out of race track, sure, it's a great idea for HIM to come here and get paid too much for the talent he no longer has.

Not as much a great idea for the Habs though.

But then again, the back of his jersey will look great... as will those insightful interviews he would give about why the Habs lost. That would please a lot of people in the general population, it would seem by that embarassing poll in the JdM today.

And in the end.. it seems that is all that counts.

I'd welcome him, not with open arms. 7th Dman definitely.

Dirty player? Maybe yeah.. Dirtier than Komi? I don't know about that. One welcomes you at the blue line by punching you in the face with both hands, the other welcomes you at the blue line with a solid shoulder anywhere he can land it.

People don't mind Komi, even after the horrible season he had... I don't mind Gauthier in the same way.

Chris Pronger does the same, you would take him, wouldn't you?

Pronger is an impact player I agree, it's still the same thing.

Are you comparing Gauthier to Pronger? Because that's like comparing Aaron Downey to Ovechkin because they're both physical.

I didn't write that.

I wrote they are both known to take head shots. Obviously arguing with you is a waste of time.
