I had already planned on it. Not that this board, or any for that matter, wouldn't be the same way. Wow.

They got a right to be pissed. Every year, every single year that team chokes when it matters most...playoffs. They are a great regular season team, just not a playoff team.

Can't blame them. "California Cool" Joe Thornton isn't going to lead anybody anywhere.

Firesale in the offseason?

I wouldn't mind seeing Pavalski or Michalak on our 2nd line.

Or that TK clone they have, but a much improved version.

Why would they trade them? Those two aren't the problem.

Bah, their supporting cast is great, it is their leaders that suck. Thornton and Marleau were completely erased by Perry, Getzlaf and Ryan tonight. God I like Getzlaf, this guy is a real winner. He dominates the game in the three zones, he is my "type", so to speak.

P.S.: I know that sounds Pierre McGuire like.

...and combined with your "A great day for a long stick" semi-naked Staal avatar, it really is getting precipitously close to McGuire'ism. You're making people uncomfortable here.

Well, combined they had as many points vs. the Ducks as Eaton did against Philly.

If they weren't the problem, they sure as hell weren't the solution.

You know what's worse? I live in Montreal and speak perfect french, just like Pierre. I'm doomed.

I just speculated that Marleau and Cheechoo could be moved in the offseason in the thread about keeping Guerin.

I'd love Marleau on Geno's LW too, but at $6.3m he would leave us with little money to fill in the RW spots for both of the top two lines. We'd have to move Kennedy up and hope for Caputi to fill the other spot. Or just play with 2 guys on each of those lines

lol yeah I definitely didn't mean from a 'financialy possible/responsible' standpoint.

Although, judging from our 2nd line so far this playoffs, it does seem like playing with 2 guys on a line is a possibility...

I think that whole Getzlaf, Perry, Ryan line is the best line going right now. They have all the offensive talent as other superstar lines but they bring a physical edge that other lines usually need to get from someone who is a lot less skilled. I can see how they shut down the top line of San Jose and I am looking forward to what they'll do to Detroit.

I agree, that line has looked great. I'd love to see them give Detroit the same problems that they gave San Jose. How crazy would it be if the Pens and Ducks met in this cup after that trade sparked both teams?

I'd take Cheechoo without much hesitation but we would hopefully not be giving up too much, and maybe even sending some salary the other way.

Dupuis and a 3rd for Cheechoo, for instance.

I was gonna ask anyone if they had been over to their board in another thread but good to see it's got it's on.

Ya they're going NUTS right now. Ah well hopefully they all stay on the level. The hate on Big Joe is just weird though. I mean if Philly only knew they'd be upset with the Sharks fans for hurting their argument that Joe is far better than Sid.

Those boards have all but traded Joe out of there already. Very intense. We'll see how they feel after things have settled in a little bit.

They're all major douches, too. Tough line to play against.

Not only Jumbo Joe. But also the following names that at any other point would be demigods in San Jose.

- Captain Marleau
- Evgeni Nabokov
- Christian Ehrhoff
- Milan Michalak
- Joe Pavalski

The only Sharks who are absolved of the fanbase-wide fury are Boyle, Murray, and (somewhat) JR. Even Setoguchi and Clowe are not spared by some of the Sharks fans.

Hey, if they don't want 'em, we'll take 'em off their hands.

I understand how that fanbase must feel. They're giving the 90's Caps a run for the money.

I can't imagine that San Jose's management would be thinking about moving guys like Michalak and Setoguchi though, they're the future of that franchise. Actually, those are the type of guys I'd be targeting if I had to move Staal.
