Would you subscribe to a habstv channel. Take RDS out of the picture, and if you live anywhere but Quebec you have to pay extra for it anyway. Work out an agreement with CBC to keep national exposure, if TSN wants to play hard ball **** em.
I'm sure there would be enough support for it. The channel could broadcast in french and english. I'd like the opportunity to see more games in english, and would pay the extra.
me too. I would hope that it would also be available in English though.
I guess I'm just used to french...before the devil, errr I mean internet, I used to listen to all the habs games on AM 860 in Toronto and I had a hard time figuring out what was going on, but I could understand the score and when we scored, hehe. Then I watched some games on SRC on saturday nights and I heard the same phrases being spoken on the radio, so then I put 2 and 2 together.
Believe it or not, I still watch RDS even when it's on in english - I have to say I love Pierre Houde...my 2 year old daughter is even getting into it and says "LE BUUUUUTTT!"
On a more serious note, how does the Leafs TV works ? Cost, who can get it, etc?
It costs about $2.99 a month, and everyone can get it except for the Ottawa region. They have an HD channel for when they show games and it's a fabulous broadcast.

I don't think they show all the Leaf games though...am I right? I actually have the channel - it comes with the cable package I subscribe to. I'm not positive that it doesn't show all the games, I think it only shows a select few. Other than that it has more analysis and pre-game stuff.
In all honesty, I wasn't impressed, but I'm sure I would be if it was the habs
In another thread, I mentioned that I emailed CTV Globe Media to get the name and contact information for the person in charge of RDS. It'll be up to us to make that person's life as miserable as possible until changes are made. We need to start being pro-active. Official complaints, emails, editorials, talk shows, bi*ching at PJ Stock for being an English version of RDS on Team 990, whatever it is. We, the fans, who are the holders of this great franchise, need to do something to grab the team back out of the hands of the Montreal media. We all have seen these past two seasons how it affects the product on the ice. For the good of our franchise, we need change.
