Quote:
Philadelphia Flyers captain Mike Richards will undergo surgery on Friday to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, according to the Courier-Post.

Flyers GM Paul Holmgren told the paper that Richards is expected to miss 10-12 weeks for recovery.

Holmgren added that surgery could be necessary on the left shoulder as well, pending the results of an MRI.

24-year-old Richards was leading his team in playoff scoring with five points in six games.

I can't say that I'm surprised.

Hopefully all goes well for him, and he comes back 100% for training camp.

His shoulder is injured because he forces players to eat it every game.

Mike really slowed down the last 15 games of the season. He still put up some points, but something was off with regards to his game. What a warrior though to play through the playoffs with two bad shoulders. He really does personify the word Captain.

Get well soon, Richie.

I'd give you my heart but you've already got so much you wouldn't know where to put it.

Yes. Didn't he play playoff games with a fractured foot one year?

Yeah, of all the guys on the team, he is the last you'd suspect was playing hurt. He actually ramped up his hitting through that series. Amazing.

I'm pretty sure Crosby is as hard driving and competitive as they come.

That is insane, I never would have pictured Cannon as injured during that series. He just got tougher and tougher as the games went by. It players like that who win you cups. Hopefully he recovers well enough to lift 10 or 12 of them over his head

I know it's mostly implied when you make a statement like that, but.......

you forgot to insert the sarcasm face.

I thought your labrum was in your hip, isn't that what was wrong with Utley. I think Nitty had this injury to if I remember a couple of years ago.
