I'm kinda surprised that his wife/gf agree to join him i'm pretty sure she's from Montreal so a big change of culture like this should be very hard.

I'm a bit surprized by this. With so much great young talent, I would have thought Zednik would have been afforded a great opportunity to be a leader who can still contribute offensively. Maybe he wants a bigger role, or just wants to be closer to home.

Doubt with the salary crunch over there he'd make much more than he would here though.

Yeah exactly, he's probably getting more money than he'd get over here. I don't think the Panthers were looking to bring him back. He's too redundant and we need his money to go towards other holes like a top 6 center and a top 4 dman if(when) Bouw leaves. This summer is going to be a buyer's market wrt second-tier UFAs. Zed just probably saw the writing on the wall. He's going to win the Masterton though.

So having the will and perseverance to play competitive hockey in the fastest, most intense league on the planet at the age of 47 with players less than half his age is somehow less deserving than being in a freak on-ice accident, healing, and then deciding to continue making a living?

1. Sullivan
2. Chelios
3. Zednik

Some NA players will more then likely to follow soon to, especialy those over 30 that would like to secure their retirement. D Moore comes to mind he hasnt had a payday yet we will see if he gets what he thinks hes worth 4 mil/year or does he bolsts to the KHL.

Have fun in Russia Zeds. That being said, he's not winning the Masterton, c'mon everyone in their right mind knows that goes to Sullivan.

Well, actually I wouldn´t be surprised if this was part of the reason why he´s leaving to Russia, my guess is that he wants to be far away from a certain Jessica Welsh, there´s a divorce coming soon in the Zednik family

I would make them double my offer so they paid me the half I was supposed to make.

Wow. Your funny.

As for the thread I really did when I saw it, but, I guess that's the way it goes, he'll be back eventually though.

lol!

Seriously, it is ironic that Zednik was saved by quick work by the doctors last year. From the arena, to the EMS, to the hospital.

Then he goes to a league that has been chastised for shoddy medical practices. Yes, I'm sure there are qualified doctors in Russia and on KHL staffs, but when the ambulance leaves before the game is over it doesn't make a great impression.
