During my second game last night, I took a slapper to the mask and the other goalie cheered. It pissed me off that some scrub-ass schmuck with the lowest save percentage in the division did that.

I got new goalie skates and it made a world of difference, still lost, but I feel like my play was a lot better.

I congratulated him after the game. You deserved it. You'd think with those shiny new pads you wouldn't have let in 3 goals in that game.

So I finally got off my lazy ass and started playing again.

I'm so horribly out of shape that I'm playing in EEEE

Give me a few months and we'll see where it goes.

Having a lot of fun though! Almost forgot what it was like.

Hey, you're out there and having fun. That's always a good thing. By the time Winter season rolls around you'll be flying out there.

I'm pretty sure that I've played with some of you guys at pickups. Valco sessions for sure.

Recently I've been doing the Monday night pickup down at Sharks ice it's been a decent crowd.

I have yet to play an ice pick up. I just haven't been confident enough in my level of play to go yet.

Had a great Gretzky today, my buddy came up from down south. It is always nice to have someone you know there then you can basically run a practice. I had learned a snap shot previously but now I finally learned a slap shot. Some random guy helped me after seeing me get frustrated. He told me to get lower and put my low hand lower and it worked right away.

Jamie Baker was running some private training after the gretz. Bet that costs an arm and a leg.

I need to work on my slapshot more, it's beyond dog****. I'm almost too embarrassed to try them.

I think in games I've honestly taken like 3 slapshots. Its a lot easier/quicker to do a wrist shot or snap shot.

Mine was the same, well is still because I am inconsistent since I just learned a better way. Another thing I was doing was transferring weight too early. But getting lower and moving my hand lower definitely gave me some immediately better shots. Some were lasers at the top corner too.

Murph, me too. I am a forward so I use my others a lot more but it is nice to have in the arsenal
