Probably going to be a little rusty to start but if we hang in there and get the legs going midway in the 1st we will be alright

Finally some Bruins hockey

Last Habs game I literally screamed and yelled so much that I threw my voice out - doesn't help that I have to talk with clients all week, ha! - so still have a sore throat, so I'll try and keep it mellow tonight (maybe the key here is to have enough Guiness to lull me into a nap?).

I think we'll have a slow 5-10 minutes, but we could go for a big hit or two early on. If you who are going are loud, the B's will respond (I think).

Here we go Bruins, Here we go!

What a long day this is gonna be.

Gotta go register the car (it'd be nice to not get pulled over), work until 4 after that, run a beeline for Boston, and go to my first Bruins playoff game ever. Good god, I can't wait.

For grins and giggles, I just checked ticketmaster.com for games 3 and 4 in Carolina and there are still tickets available. cheapest i saw was $80 per. did new jersey rub off on them? how can a professional sports franchise not sell out a second round game immediately?

I can't wait. I'm so pumped for this game.

I think that this is the series that recchi was made for. He'll get some key points.

I agree, he'll be huge this series.

Cam Ward won't give anywhere close to the rebounds Price did. It'll be essential to set up deflections in front to score goals.

I like Lucic, as does everyone on this board but tonight is his night. He needs to come out tonight and set the tone. Not Thornton, not Chara, not Patrice, not Savard. Lucic does.

Why? For some reason, this team responds when Lucic sets the physical tone. Lucic can also finish all of his cheeks because he is not a center or defenseman. I love Dion Phaneuf, but he always does for the big hit, you can't do that as a defenseman. Smart forwards will take advantage of this. Lucic, being a winger, can pretty much skate around and hit whatever is wearing white.

IMO, Boston starts out a little slow and tentative tonight, 4 or 5 minutes in Lucic will have a 3 hit shift and the crowd will really get into it, and this team will respond.

After spending the week in the hospital I won't be able to go to the game as planned tonight but at least I know I'll have some company here on LF to cheer on the boys!!

Those going...take up the volume a notch...round 1 was great but round 2 means time to get the Gahden noticed as a crowd that takes a backseat to NONE - just like our boys!!

Can't wait for tonight!! Seems like forevah since they have laced 'em up...bound to be a little rusty but I am sure Looch will throw a couple of wake-up call hits and Kobs will run around like a menace to the South and get things going! Hoping Bergy, Rex and Kobs make life miserable for Cam!

Here we go Bruins...He we GO!!

Single seats? Yes. Two together? Nope, they've been sold out of those for awhile.

My band is stuck playing a tiny little bar on the South Shore tonight. Luckily there will be a good size flatscreen right in front of me. Needless to say the music I'll be playing will just be an afterthought!

Let's Go B's

I hope everything is all right. I spent way too much time in the hospital with my Dad and I know how tough it can be. Hope the Bruins can pull it off!

WILMINGTON -- Good morning from Ristuccia Arena, where the Bruins are holding their morning skate (TD Banknorth Garden currently occupied by Northeastern commencement) in preparation for tonight's Game 1 against Carolina.

Some tidbits from the game notes:

* This is the fourth time the Bruins will play the Hartford/Carolina franchise in the playoffs. The Bruins have won all three previous meetings.

* Mark Recchi and Aaron Ward will be facing 10 former teammates from the 2005-06 Cup club: Anton Babchuk, Rod Brind'Amour, Erik Cole, Matt Cullen, Frantisek Kaberle, Chad LaRose, Eric Staal, Niclas Wallin, Cam Ward, and Ray Whitney.

* Carolina has seven Black Aces: Zach Boychuk, Patrick Dwyer, Brandon Sutter, Brett Carson, Bryan Rodney, Justin Peters, and Drayson Bowman. The Bruins have none.

* Carolina averaged 34.1 shots per game in the first round. The Bruins averaged 32.5 per game against the Canadiens.

* Paul Devorski and Dennis LaRue will be the referees. Lonnie Cameron and Greg Devorski will be the linesmen.

what are black aces?
