There are no In-N-Out locations anywhere outside of California, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona.

You must have have eaten a fraud.

Really eh? I could have sworn it was an In-n-Out joint. I guess not though. Now I'm wondering what that was...

I'm guessing you're talking about Burgoo around 15th on Main Street. It's not a burger joint; Burgoo is a type of stew from the Southern US. That said they've got really good food and a lot of gorgeous waitresses.

Yep, Burgoo doesn't serve burgers but they serve amazing food! They specialize in making all the best comfort foods that the world offers. So if its a cold day, or you just feel lousy, Burgoo is MONEY!

Back on topic, I've already said my piece about Moderne Burger. I don't count White Spot as fast food, so the best fast-food burger running is A&W's Mama Burger. They use the perfect amount of mustard/ketchup and it's a very clean taste.

Random fact: I once ate a deep fried Big-Mac. there was this place in Steveston where you could get things deep-fried, so we brought a Big Mac.

If the burger thread and the beer thread merged, I would go into stimulus overdose.

while not technically burgers, it's really hard to beat the pulled pork and brisket sandwiches from Memphis Blues. Pretty cheap, very fast and you can get 'em for take out. Plus they carry Boylan's sodas which I think are the best, ever.

I quite like Vera's but their menu system is balls. They could really use to streamline their process.

That's why I like Moderne burger. Very classic and basic. Though I haven't been there in a couple years since all the renos. I'll have to re-acquaint myself.

My neighbour is one of the owners of Burgoo. No burgers there. They also have locations in Lonsdale quay and West 10th, as well as owning another Main St. eatery - WingNuts (chicken wings).

But if you are looking for burgers on Main St. - go to Splitz, you won't be disappointed.

How long have they been in Vancouver for? Whenever I'm in Whistler I go there quite a bit.

Hmm, maybe. Although I'm fairly positive that the family friend we went with was bragging about the In-n-out burger and how amazing it was. It was clearly something else though, as there are no in-n-out joints in Washington. For what its worth, I remember it being some sort of drive-in joint. It reminded me of whitespot's car meals.

Yeah it's heartbreak. It happened sometime between December and March because I was there for a WJC game. A bit brutal that they expanded and then shutdown shortly after.

Wouldn't be the worst if their burgers actually looked like that.

For me, Whitespot. I love those legendary burgers with a side of sweet potato fries and chipotle mayo.

Out here in Calgary there are only two Whitespot locations and niether have the service or product down as well as the Lower Mainland locations. But it has to do... Lot's of disgusting Montanas and Swiss Chalets out here.

Do the Alberta White spots have any Alberta-exclusive items on their menu?

3. Go to any small cafe owned by an Asian family and they'll give you an amazing burger. I'm serious - I've never had a bad burger made by an Asian-family-owned cafe. It's a bulletproof last ditch effort.

edit: I'm the only one to mention Burger Heaven? What the hell!
I hated Burger Heaven when I used to live in N.W. I didn't find anything special about their burgers (though it's been likely over 8 years since I last went) and the location stunk.

I was really hoping to try one of those Deep Fried Mars Bars.

The Best Burger I have ever had was from Kua’Aina Burger in Tokyo. Since the only other locations are in Hawaii this probably doesn't help you out, but be sure to check them out if you're ever in Japan. Amazing Hawaiian burgers!

A few more comments; Vera's is overrated IMO. The concept is great, but the quality (particularly the beef) just isn't up to par with what a great burger should be.

In-an-out is probably the best fast food burger, but only in the south western US as of right now. I understand their beef supply is trucked in fresh locally, and this is why expansion has been limited.

I haven't tried Splitz in Vancouver, but if its anything close to the one is Whistler, it is definitely worth a go.

Never been to Moderne or Feenie's so I can't comment, but hear good things.

White Spot is a safe bet, but Vancouver definitely lacks in the burger department overall.
