Two nice skating teams out there going hell bent for leather. Oilers are fortunate to be ahead, but are doing some nice things too.

Don't think the scoring is done, though.

plus, he shouldnt really have been in that situation. im just listening to rod, but if that second powerplay unit had created anything at all and at least not iced the puck...

I don't want to rag on him... but he hasn't been perfect either. His adventures in puck handling have left me gasping for breath. And he left a lot of rebounds out there in the first period.

BUt who cares. I just want the win at this point.

#1. You have a personal bias against Tommy, so anything that you say about him or his performance should be disregarded, regardless of whether you are dead on or incorrect.

#2. The only reason I mentioned that it was a bad goal to give up was because of its timing, because it was a shortie & because it was from so far away. Yes, Jussi was screened, and couldnt do anything about it, but I would still prefer it not go in.

Great shift by Hemsky and an even better shot from Brewer for our 4th goal.. we really need to try and limit Brewer's minutes in the third if we want to have even a chance tommorrow night in LA.

Agreed, he hasn't been perfect tonight.. I just don't want this to turn into another situation where every goal allowed results in a new thread proclaiming how weak it was and how poor our goaltending is.

I wonder what the record is for goals from our d-men. I certainly can't recall them poping five from a d-man in a game.

Edited due to increadibly bad mistakes for such a short post...

How nice did that PP look with Nedved?

Bergeron again...I can't wait to see his stats after tonight.

yea, i've got no idea what the record is, i'm pretty sure doug harvey had 6 in one game though...actually, it might have been 4,...i can't remember now. I'd be happy now if the D would focus on playing some shutdown D.

Brewer has 2 points so far, does anyone have any stats on how many points he has in his last 15-20 games? I'm guessing over 10, he has played very well and seems to be finding his way on to the scoresheet more and more..

The thing is, even in Nedved's "bad games" he's putting up points... hehehe after watching Dvorak have good games all season long and registering no points in alot of them, it's nice to see the opposite happen every now and then, no matter who it's for

I like what the Laraque line brings, but he loses his effectiveness if he is out there for more than 12 minutes. In between 9 and 12 is when he usually plays his best, and he'll probably finish with about 10.

He does this every year... and if the Oilers make the playoffs he'll average well over .5 ppg in the playoffs.

He always brings it when the games seem to have more meaning (seem to have... game 3 of the regular season is worth the same number of points as game #74... I don't think Eric knows that), and he's usually been pretty stellar when the chips are down.

to give you an idea of how slow the san jose dmen are, oates took a guy outside and beat him. Good road game, few mistakes. The oilers are playing like vets.

Jussi was good enough. the three stars will be interesting but I think brewer has to be the first star. A good effort by devo as well. MAB should be one of the stars.

this win is entirely due to nabakov's poor play. The sharks count on him outplaying the other goalie by a lot and it didn;t happen. If you get equal goaltending vs the sharks, you should win.

That seems to be true actually.. he has 6 points in his last 5 games (counting tonight so far) and has been a lot more active in the offensive zone of late. Bergeron also has 5 points his last 3 games. Seems like our defenceman have been a big key in this winning streak of ours..

I've got to admit, I didn't think Bergeron would be in Edmonton's long-term plans but my goodness is he playing well since his recent call-up. That's going to be eight goals and 21 points in just 47 games for him. I think I might just hop on the Bergeron bandwagon right about now

His last 20 games, counting tonight's output if it doesn't change:

4 goals, 7 assists.

Whew, great win.. only one point out of a playoff spot with a chance to squeak in tommorrow night! I'm hoping the boys aren't too tired from tonight's game to put in a solid effort against LA tommorrow. Brewer played 24 mins but most of the others had about 16 mins. I know this sounds redundant but tommorow night is huuuuge!
