Really? Because I'm pretty sure it does make sense here. I'm not usually one of the "Euro hockey sucks" people as I usually enjoy it actually... but this is the best case for European hockey being soft I have seen in a while...

If these refs called an NHL playoff game they wouldn't be able to play more than 20 seconds without a penalty being called...

Not to mention the dives are even more obvious and pathetic in this tournament.. at least NHL refs do a better job at noticing acting when they see it.

The only good games in this tournament have been when the refs actually let the players play. I'm not sure if Europeans know this or not... but there IS supposed to be hitting in hockey. This is why North American hockey is usually more entertaining.

Which part of "he must avoid the contact" did you not understand?

Lucky call for the Swiss. The refs are definitively helping them during this tournament.

Wow! The US gets screwed on the no goal call. Higgins' stick was under the cross bar when he deflected the puck.

In case you haven't read anything I've said, I DO understand now. You must avoid all contact in European hockey!

However, if this were North America, that would be called playing the body while fighting for the puck... not illegal at all.

Again, not his fault if the Swiss player falls weird on to extremely dangerous boards that the IIHF still refuses to get rid of even though they keep injuring players... go figure, the IIHF isn't very bright.

Who knows, it's erratic at best. Higgins just made it 2-2, I think he's been the US's best player so far.
