I don't know why I dislike Crosby either, he's one of the best players to ever play the game...

Here's my take on Crosby (and the Red Wings as well)-arrogance. That's the best I can do to discribe my feelings about both.

But, I'll cheer for Crosby if it results in a Wing loss. As much as I respect the Red Wing talent I hate the arrogence of the team, fans and "Hockey Town" script on their center ice! Who the hell gave them the title of hockey town anyway? Bogus arrogance!

There is plenty of cockiness about the Pens here in Pittsburgh, too, especially among the bandwagon fans who only started pretending to like hockey last year. I'm sure it's similar with any successful team, but damnit if it's not annoying. If it comes down to Pens/Wings, I might actually have to root for the Wings; I don't have to live in Detroit and listen to their fans everyday.

Hawkeytown > Hockeytown

Pens fans may be spoiled - the franchise has had an all-time great (presuming Crosby becomes such) and good fortune in the draft lottery - but that's a great hockey fan base in a football town. Hopefully Columbus can follow suit.

Crosby? I've never gotten the hate. Do haters also hate LeBron James? Because they're basically the same guy in different sports. At least Ren admitted to it being partly irrational. Now, if you don't like Pittsburgh sports teams and therefore none of their players, that I can get.

I mean, I'm sure Nate McLouth is equally revolved by some Ohio sports fans.

Meh, he's one of those guys I'd take on my team any day. Though I think I'd rather have Franzen, if given the option.

Does Holmstrom's RoboCop shoulder pads get their own spot on the list?

Yes. Spots for everyone!

Hawks just tied in late in the third. They sure like coming from behind.

Can't come back from that one - Wings win in overtime, 3-2.

For those still watching the NHL it's a scorefest in Pittsburgh...no fault to the goalies though, there is zero defense, 3-3 in the second.

I'm banking on Carolina's veteran experience to eventually overcome the Penguins star studded team.

Carolina is the team that really deserves the "never outworked" motto. Man, they're impressive.

Gotta love that Malkin guy...I'd give my left nut to have just one CBJ player at his level.. Nash would get no more than second line minutes on the Pittsburgh club..

Edit: a hattie for the Russian now. Malkin is one super player, all world.

To Pitt:
Robert's leftie

To Columbus:
Malkin

Might have to throw in a pick or two, but I'd do it.

Pittsburgh gets a 5 minute powerplay to wrap up the game. High sticking major & a match penalty on Bayda gives them the PP.

...edit, and we had an elbow & cross check 17 seconds into the PP. Stay tuned kids.

What's the difference between a match penalty & game misconduct? They have Bayda for CAR with a match penalty (5 min) & Letang for PIT with a game misconduct after the scrum late in the game.

The Carolina players look crushed, I'm surprised they let the 4-4 tie get out of control. The Canes must play better defensively to beat Malkin et. al.

Both series are now 2-0 which could be the beginning of a home ice win situation for both. I've seen this before in the playoffs where the teams win at home all the way to the 7th game where home ice tends to lose some significance.

The reason this happens is because teams know being down 3-1 is often impossible to overcome.
