I love Puck Daddy's comment on it

Quote:
• Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch wrote about the Atlanta Thrashers. Bill Tiller of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Web site wrote about Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch writing about the Atlanta Thrashers. It's a curb-stomping.
I guess if you can't write about your team you can at least write about other people writing about your team.

Which of course makes you wonder if it isn't some sort of interweb writer conspiracy to drive up each other's page views.

I thought we could just leave some comments on his blog along the lines of: "We disagree with your hockey-related assessment, therefore your entire city is poopy and irredeemable."

Let's just hope that the $0.0000001 he got from your click wasn't what finally let him afford that new mansion.

Told ya - conspiracy. Brophy probably sent a link to Portzline hoping he'd mention it in his blog. We're all pawns in the interweb page-view game!

Reads better than any post here after someone's found some comment from a writer that supposedly disses Columbus in some fashion, or is poorly researched.

"Staged Fight" rule Vetoed by NHLPA

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/...73433&name=nhl

Quote:
LAS VEGAS -- It appears the "staged fights" rule recommended by the NHL's 30 GMs will not see the light of day.

The players discussed it at their meeting here this week and they recommended to their members on the competition committee to vote against it.

The union brought in a number of tough guys Wednesday and they shared their universal thumbs-down on the "staged fights" rule proposition.

"They gave the group a pretty clear message," said NHL Players' Association executive Glenn Healy. "What's the code? What are the rules of engagement? Everyone talks about it, but what is it? So we had these guys come in and talk about it.

"We're about safety, but we also understand that if a fight breaks out in a game, Gandhi isn't leaving; he's going to stay and watch it. We understand that it's part of our sport, it cleans up our sport, it polices our sport, and it's entertainment. Goals, saves, fights -- thank you."
Good. I think the proposed rule was stupid anyway. All it would do is make players skate around a few seconds before dropping the gloves anyway.

Adam Foote rumored to Toronto, in a supposed deal with Ryan Smyth & some other pieces going each way.

Hope Burke has a contingency plan in place for when Adam gets homesick for the mountains & demands a trade.

That'd give Burke both a Foote and a Finger in his goal to complete a Frankenstein Monster. He needs to add what, a Legwand, Hedman, Armstrong and if he wants a boy, Peca

That's awesome.

But surely, Brian Burke must realize Adam Foote and Ryan Smyth are terrible.

I'm not a fan of trade proposals, but after seeing some Toronto fans suggest it would take nothing short of Nash and #16 overall for Kaberle, it would make me laugh

I pity any casual fan who considers this series their bible on the other 29 NHL teams.

Gomez traded to Montreal for Higgins.

Boards likely to crash soon due to swarming, pissed-off Habs fans. See you all when they come back up.
