I'd say it's highly unlikely that anything will come out of this.

The NHL would never approve it.

I think the NHL will give Medvedev a club before they do Balsillie.

The NHL should just give an expansion team to Medvedev and Ballsillie in Hamilton and Quebec City.

The extra revenue will help pay back all the money the owners have shelled out to keep Phoenix going and everyone goes home happy.

Besides, as a Wings fan, I'd love to see another EST team join the Central division.

Seems almost prophetic at this point.

What's to stop Medvedev from bidding on Phoenix if it's a bankruptcy court that determines the Coyotes' fate? Based on my cursory reading of the news and bankruptcy filing, a bid has to be fully funded (not contingent on financing) at closing, and $5million more than JB's offer....

"KHL owner" ... TSN As always: when it come to affairs east of Atlantic, it's always one blurry scene for them. "Slovenia, Slovakia, or slow something"...

Maybe he offers 217.5 million for the coyotes with the condition they relocate to Moscow. Maybe he just offers 217.5 for the yotes to keep them in Phoenix. Bankruptcy court would have an easy decision.

Heck let him buy a team. The first time he loses a player to the KHL or vice versa because of a lack of transfer agreement would facilitate one getting in place.

I would love to see a an NHL team owned by the Medvedev stocked with the best talent from Russia. Similarly to how Dynamo Riga is majority Latvian Players and other examples.

It's interesting that he says, "They don't want to make the same mistakes as the NHL with 10 clubs in big trouble." Hmm... That's bad when he's calling the NHL out like that.
