What a great news! Even if I found sad the Phoenix fans might lose their team, they cant even afford to pay the rent anymore. Lets put this team in a better hockey market somewhere in Canada. A hockey team in the desert is simply nonsense.
Let's hope Bettman wont block this moove. Its a complete nonsense to have an Hockey team in the middle of a desert. Hamilton or elsewere in Canada will be excellent.

when you think about it, Hamilton is a good choice. You can expect sell out for all the games against the Habs/Leafs and good showing against the sens. That's already a few games sold out in the pocket (even more so if they go back to 8 games interdivision). That would make it about ~10 games on 41 already sold out...

I agree 100% and it would be kind of ironic...to have the team move back to Canada
this is where im confused though, if Phoenix moves to southern ontario then i believe that Buffalo would leave our division and the new team would take their spot, and i also believe that carolina would move to the west, except its not fair to Buffalo to take Carolinas spot because it is not the proper location for them. so my question is where does every1 go??
The lack of commitment to winning with no end in sight ( ie getting a head coach that must be francophone first as a prerequisite, and many other examples), and with no apparent end in site to this papparazzi style media frenzy that scares away any hope of signing free agents that would bring success to this team, may just make this second ontario franchise my new favourite team. However, that may depend on how close it is to the GTA.
I hate to say it, but I like a lot of other habs fans are fed up with this circus.
habs will never be winners because they will never get the best head coach available, and they will not be able to sign the best FA'a available, and they never will be bad enough to draft high enough to make their own superstar.
They will be stuck in a cycle of a player developmental team with no end in site.
I have hope that it will change, but sadly i don't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
$212.5 million was offered. The Phoenix owner better take that and run.
A team in Southern Ontario just seems stupid. Bring back the Jets, Jim.
Why? There's a huge market there. over 7M people, not counting all the TO bandwagoners.

A new SO team would more then likely be added to the Central Division with Detroit.

#1 If Bettman could have opposed or blocked this, he would have done so already. It feels like it's much too late for plan A or even plan B for the Yotes.
#2 Hamilton is south west of Toronto, if this move goes through, Hamilton will be in the western conference with Detroit, Chicago, Columbus and Nashville. That's the most plausible layout without other teams moving. (St. Louis would move with Colorado, Edmonton, etc.. and Vancouver would be a pacific team.)
Questions:
1. Would this affect the Bulldogs in any way?
2. What name do you think the team will take. I guessed earlier "The Skulls", but that's because I'm drunk
