Game 3. Washington Capitals @ Pittsburgh Penguins. 5/6/2009. Mellon Arena. 7 PM.

Caps lead series 2-0

Since less is more, here's even less creativity for Game 3. Someone else should feel free to do these. Seriously.

I got nothing.

Win. Just one if you have to. Come out of Pittsburgh with one more win and the series is as good as over.

Hopefully the boys come out flying tomorrow night. The Penguins will, and if the Caps can weather the early storm, they'll be fine. GO CAPS!

I wouldn't go into the office the day after if the Caps were to win. I would sit on my couch, laptop in tow, reading these boards and watching the NHL Network all morning. The Pens board would be in full meltdown mode if that occurred .

**** the win, just take Kunitz's head off in the opening minute. Worry about winning in games 5 and 7 at VC. I wanna be there for the victories.

I think it will be easy to goad Kunitz. He is probably laying in bed now staring at the ceiling wondering how many times Ovi is going to nail him. At his first chance he will panic and the refs give us a call. Score, lather rinse repeat. Get a big lead and then unleash our secret weapon the suspendable Sloan onto MAF (stolen idea)

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but if the Caps are up 2-3 goals with a couple minutes remaining in the game, I absolutely believe that BB will order a hit on one of the Pens. Wouldn't be shocked if the Russians (I'm looking @ you Ovy + Semin) haven't already started whispering in his ear. I think BB would willing to absorb a one game suspension to show opposing teams that his guys stick up for one another.

As much as Ovy is the heart and soul of the team, Czarly's played a huge role during our (so far awesome) playoff run. He's been winning games for us and the players love supporting him. If he gets hurt, we're finished.

In a series that we're up 3-0, I think he's just crazy enough to do it.

Sadly Boudreau doesn't work that way. I'm just hoping Ovechkin will just replicate his performance from the 1st game of the season against the Penguins, except with Kunitz as his chew toy instead of Malkin.

Forget retribution right now. Kunitz can`t hurt us if he`s gone in two more games.

I dunno. Playoffs are a whole different animal, and he knows the history of these two squads. After pulling Theo so quickly in round 1, wouldn't put anything past BB.

My darkhorse candidate to talk to Kunitz is our back to life captain, Chris Clark. Its time to be an on ice captain not just a locker room guy.

Pittsburgh's young stars feed well off the crowd.
Get the puck deep and slow it down.

I have faith in this team. I think the PP is getting a bit predictable though.

Lets go Caps. Put some heat on them!

Caps and Vancouver are very similar this year in regards to the playoffs. Both simplify their offensive game plan and PP's away from home, because they aren't trying to impress anyone. I really expect a focused Caps team for the next 2 games and I expect 1 win AT LEAST, whether it tomorrow or Friday. LETS GEAUX CAPS!

When has this team ever operated that way? The only time they have targeted anyone was when Ovy went on a personal vendetta against Malkin, and that was precipitated by an off-ice incident.

This'll do nicely. Most people just want to start expressing their thoughts and need the GDT as the anchor/starting point which signals the start of the process.

Strungout's sentiment of "just win" is the correct focus. Physical retribution should not be the main focus. There are more games to play and we need all our guys to remain as physically healthy and not suspended as much as possible. The march to the Stanley cup is a physically tiring battle and often goes to the last man standing. Let's be smart along the way.

Seriously. The biggest blow that can be dealt to Kunitz is to let him find himself wielding a nine iron and plaid shorts. A series win is the best revenge we can get.

Pepper MAF whenever you gain control in the O zone. The Caps can score 5 on him if they bring their top game. Play smart D whenever the puck is not in our possession. The Pens are desperate. They'll make mistakes. Keep calm. Pepper MAF!!!!!

GO CAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No distractions, just win.
But if you have to do any message-sending, you do it to Fleury NOT Kunitz.
