The Dynamiters round out their roster with a great two-way centerman who can step onto my fourth line if I require a tad more offense.

No mentioning undrafted players!

I want Toms' size on my MLD 4th line. Now he probably won't last that long.

He was called "putty" for his ability to fill in on any line. I thought it stood for his toughness personally. He did have a hat trick once I recall with Eric Lindros basically feeding him 5 gimmies and him getting 3.

Yes, the New York Rangers, original six team, had Jeff Toms as a first line winger for about 10 games. FML.

The New Westminster Bruins round out their roster by selecting a gifted Finnish defenceman:

D Pekka Rautakallio

Glad I only have to spell it. Don't have to pronounce it.

Thanks, you beat me to it. I also have his list for the last pick so anyone feel free to PM me if his turn comes up.

Also, I have Ernie as a C only. Does anyone have evidence of him playing RW?

Major jump for Holik. He was a AAA player last draft.

Ultimate Hockey have him list as a center/rover/right winger. The Hockey Hall of Fame have him as a Center/rover.

That's why I don't mind trading up and get extra 24th rounders. Taffy Abel and Ernie Russell as 24th round pick? Those two guys could go 200 spot earlier without noticing.

True enough. I don't like to tempt fate, though. You pick before someone, you run no risk of them getting your guy.

BTW, Russell is a great and highly underrated player. You really want to impress us with his playoff goal totals? Remove the games against bad challengers and then show us his GPG

Every all-star players played against weaker challenger during that ERA. It's true though that his playoff scoring total are eye popping. However, it tells the story of a great playoff performer and a great goalscorer.

It's true I tempted fate on this one. My list of 7thD was completely depleted in the last 30 picks. Only one name was standing out of 7 defenseman, and I absolutely have no clue which defenseman I would of taken. Same could be said about Russell, although I did had a replacement in mind, a perennial Detroit Falcons.

The numbers may be eye-popping but what is really eye-opening is when you eliminate games like that and see how they did against top competition. McGee, for example, after removing Dawson City, Smiths Falls and others, still comes out as one of the best gamers of that era, just without the ridiculously gaudy figures.

Phillips is one guy whose totals are as "true" as it gets. Every playoff game he ever had was against a top team.

Those games against weaklings can skew things a lot. You could see a 12-1 win against a Toronto University, where the otherwise best player was relatively quiet with two goals while someone else had 7, which hugely affects their career totals and averages due to the small sample size of their playoff careers.

I'll take a look in The Trail tonight and see what I find.
