Money well spent.

Oh and sweet GDT Scuds. Stay positive everyone....the whole game.

I honestly think that our problems aren't as big as some make it out to be. If we can at least go 50-50 on faceoffs tonight, and keep stupid penalties to a minimum, we fly back to Washington with a tied series, all the momentum, and a Sidney Crosby that will not allow His team to lose. We saw it 2 days ago, and we'll see it again tonight, and every game here on out... he won't let them lose if he can help it.

I agree 100%. We are close. This is one of the closest 2-0 series starts I've ever seen.

It's so close it's not funny. I mean, sure, we're playing like crap, but we've barely lost both games. I take that as a good sign, to be honest. If we can even play to our strengths, this is over in 6. 1 win in Washington is needed, sure, but if we do what we need to do, it's over for the Capitals. We're a puck posession team, and if we only win 40% of the draws, we don't have puck posession. If we're a 1 line team, we're not playing up to standards. All it will take is a solid Malkin working hard, and a good 3rd line effort and this series is exact that; a series. It's not out of the question that we lose the series, and if we do, so be it, but our problems are being magnified by the people here. I watched a team that was clearly the superior team lose twice, and the team wasn't even playing half decent!

I really hope this series goes to 7 games just for how much pop its getting all over the sports world. It was headlining like 4 of the ESPN shows and if average fans tune in to the Anaheim/Detroit series or the Vancouver/Chicago series as well.. the product will keep getting stronger and stronger.

So what you're saying is no pressure on our lads tonight?

I will always be a Pittsburgh fan first... I really think it just comes down to smart hockey. We have made some mental errors that really boggle my mind.

I watch Detroit and even if they don't win.. they make the smart decision w/ the puck almost every time. I think we are just as talented but we are no where even CLOSE to being as responsible as that team.

A quick Google search reveals it to be a woman by the name of Gina Carano. Apparently she's some sort of MMA fighter.

No way dude.
  • They're rolling 4 superstars deep up front to our two - that's almost like having two Crosby/Malkin lines.
  • Bottom 6 might be comparable, theirs is more talented and experienced but ours is grittier.
  • Their #1 dman blows ours away and the rest of their defense is much deeper and more talented.
  • Fleury is certainly more talented than Ossie but dude's got 3 cups.

They're definitely still the league standard.

Edit: probably shouldn't have hijacked this thread, moving on.......

Yeah.. I guess I have to agree with you. I opened up both rosters and see similarities... but you are right about the overall talent and experience.

I guess I just look at the fundamentals of hockey and I honestly see players like Datsyuk & Zetterburg and how they play for the team and no offense to Geno because he's still so very young.. but he doesn't do it on a consistent basis.

We control games up and down the ice yet we make silly mental errors that are frustrating. I know we can't be perfect.. but i think consistency is what I really want to see. Maybe that comes as our team continues to grow becuase realistically we have a lot of young guys on our team who are just learning how to be a great team.

A bit OT here but...

I was just reading the story about Bettman making a comment on the Coyotes situation and it stated that he was at some conference with the other 3 major sports commissioners and I thought what would that be like?

Now I'm not a Steeler fan but I've heard and defended claims that they too get league favortisim for certain reasons. So in the consipiracy world lets say that's true. What do Goodell and Betts say to Bud Selig about the Pirates? Do Gary and Roger walk in, high five one another and immediately start to taunt Bud because he doesn't 'fix' games or give the Pirates any 'help'? Can't they convince him to do what's right for the good of the league? ha ha.

Either way I'd like to be in on that conference. Sorry to post this here but we still got a few hours til puck drop.

Gina Carano is so hot. -drool-

I hope the Pens win this game. I think it's about time Malkin steps up in a big way.

5-2 Pens win.

Great GDT Scuds!...

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy game;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy Capital's will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily Goals,
and forgive us our missed shots,
as we forgive those who score against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from Evil Deficit with a Win. Amen!
