He could have given the other goalies a fair shot, though, IMO. He just picked Esche and stuck his head in the sand. Maybe a little competition would have improved the 'tending.

Esche can be a monster against some teams that play like Finland. With Backes, Brown on the ice, there is probably going to be some kind of sideshow... Probably including Ruutu and Salmela.

Well as a Bolts fan I <3 Torts. temperment or not.

I know we don't have very good goalies to choose from... but Wilson should still be able to tell when he should give a different goalie a chance. Esche has proven he can't steal games. I have more faith in Clemmy at this point.

I like our chances in this game but it's not going to be easy. Canada's defence was in major trouble with our forechecking and I think it'll be the same way in this game. Only problem is that we lack goal scorers. Finland will probably shoot 40+ times again and make Esche look like a hero. I say 3-2 Finland in OT.

Watch Leo Komarov. He's Ruutu's apprentice who's been turning some heads in the tournament. Reports say he's had good contract offers from KHL, but could he even make the NHL next year?

Crap. Niinimaa better not screw up. If he just kept his game simple and not try.... well, anything... but I think that's just wishfull thinking.

I guess Niinijaana plays a good game
when we don't notice him at all.

Does anyone know what channel Universal is with Direct TV? Thanks.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's not available through Direct TV.

Exactly. The most annoying thing about him (besides the obvious fact that he can't play defence) is that he thinks he's a puck moving d-man, when he should just give the puck to the closest teammate as fast as he can.

And he already almost took a penalty...

USA is forchecking rather high.
We should use that, as we
can play with fast opening
passes.

They've been doing that all tournament and it hasn't worked yet. I wish Wilson would change that strategy.

If Usa wins this will be a huge biist for 2010. Their chances are very slim because they didn't play that strong hockey all tourny
