Canada vs. Sweden, always great and entertaining games. Questionable reffing, some dirty plays here and there, some fluke goals.. and in general very tight games. I look very much forward to this one, although I would be surprised if Sweden would get passed Team Canada.

For Sweden i would like to see...

...Jonas Gustavsson with another big game
...Johnny Oduya with a huge open-ice-hit
...Linus Omark showing off his skills against some high calibre NHL defensemen
...Johan Åkerman not playing

I think Canada will win this one pretty easy, not just because they have a better team, but because the Swede's may be tired from tonights game vs. the Czech's aswell.

Predicting a 4-1 win for the Canadians.

Whats the odds for Sweden ending up with a "honerable loss"? 1 to 1.01...

This is Canada's game to loose for sure. They just need to do what they always do and they will win easy. Sweden will stand up, be the better team for stretches, not by a big margin, but they will carry the play at times. But in the end, Canada will be stronger infront of both nets, they'll pull some games and get energy off that. They have a better PK and PP.

A win would be awsome, but I don't have much hope.

I have a bad feeling about this game and predict a 5-3 win for Sweden.
I hope I'm wrong.

As much as I'm tired of 4th places I think this the fate for this team too. Canada will win tomorrow and BÅG has a hard time motivating his teams for the bronze games.

We can't expect Jonas Gustavsson to be as lucky as he was against the Czechs. Sure he's a good goalie, but the Czechs had pucks bouncing off posts and crossbars and had plenty of other near-misses that could easily have been goals. Canada will be better around the net and will put a few of those rebounds in the net.

Should be a good game, if the refs don't spoil it.

As a nation Canada got more depth then Sweden. With that said, Sweden gets more hurt with many good swedes still playing in the playoff. I cheer for the Canucks, so I want them in the play off. But just half of the swedes of the Wings and the Canucks in the WC would make a whole different team.

I'm just not impressed by Canada, they should win this game but I have a good feeling that we can push an upset win out of it.

Yeah, I don't know either. I wasn't impressed with Canada's game against the Finns, at all. They've got to be better 5-on-5 and have to stay out of the friggin' box.

I think this is probably close enough that a lucky bounce or two may determine the game one way or the other.

The one thing I am sure of is that there will be whining about the referees on this board. I know some of my fellow Canucks will do it - they always do - and if some of the Swedes can cry a river about Canada during a game against the Czechs, they are bound to do it during an actual game against Canada also.

Mod: deleted.

Some of the excuses:

Sweden has a lot of players playing in the playoffs.....Well, look at Canada. 3/4 Olympic calibre players......That's a lot right!

Sweden must be tried... considering they both played on same day, it shouldn't be a big deal.

Anyways, I didn't really like this Team Canada....you can check my World Championship Thread....and I still don't like it. Not very impressed with their effort...

I'll say 4-2 Sweden.

Haha, what a sad sight. Every Swede thinks Canada are gonna demolish Sweden (looking much like the Swedish predictions before the Czech game). Strange country we are.

That being said, Canada is naturally the favorite here. I think tomorrows result will depend on Sweden's performance. Canada is definetly gonna bring it so Sweden will have to be at their best and keep that team spirit alive. Win or lose, I don't think Sweden will be a pushover tomorrow. It will be close.

Eh I believed Czech would be quite an easy matchup actually, we're a better team then them.

Being a biased Latvian-Canadian, and knowing that Latvia beat Sweden and Canada had problems with Latvia, I'd say 5-2 Canada.

If you look at the individual teams, you cannot predict anything else than a Canadian victory. It's true that Canada haasn't played nearly as well as they could considering just what players they have at their disposial.

Goaltending is the only factor that can save the Swedes.

I expect this one to be tight right down until the end, but I'm picking Canada to win 3-2.

And considering both Liv and Gustavsson have been less than impressive so far means that Canada has the upper hand (provided they play Mason over the useless Rolly)

It will be tough. Our goalie Jonas Gustavsson is very good stopping the puck BUT he gives up lots of rebounds! I'm afraid Canada will take advantage of this fact.

Gustavsson was lucky against the Czechs.

The only reason Gustavsson hasn't given up more goals is because of our world class defense.

Gustavsson still can be a world class goalie, if he stops giving up so many stupid rebounds. But it's to much to hope that this will change now, vs the Canadians.

Conclusion: If our defense plays SUPER we can win otherwise it will be an easy one for Canada.

What do you base that on? I think most who have seen the games would agree that he's been one of Swedens best players in this tournament. He was player of the game against USA and the Czechs.

I agree with 21 though, he does give up quite a lot of rebounds. But to claim that he's been less than impressive is just wrong.

I think this could be a close game. I hope so at least.

Hopefully Spezza is 100%, this should be a good game, it may come down to if Sweden can stay out of the box..
