Yes, the officiating was absolutely brutal, but...

...

The Carolina Hurricanes undoubtedly deserved to win tonight.

As angry as I am about this loss, I have to hand it to Paul Maurice's team. That is how you play playoff hockey.

Very true....

That said, if the officials weren't handing the 'Canes powerplays on borderline calls while not giving us powerplays on blatant penalties being pissed at the officiating is not out of bounds.

It seemed like we were more out coached than out played

Everytime we retrieved the puck in our own zone there was a cane on whoever had the puck. And then the puck got moved, and a cane was on the recipient of the puck.

We put pressure on the whole 2nd period but have nothing to show for it. then carolina puts pressure on and scores 3 unanswered. We gotta bear down on chances if we want to win games. It coulda been 3-0 us if we buried our chances early in the 1st. But we didnt and now we are in a hole.

The canes just attack attack attack all game long and the b's just sit around and watch. Claude's system is good in the regular season and against a completly injured habs team but it is useless in the playoffs against teams who want to win.

The refs sucked tonight...but let's face it, the Bruins SUCKED way more. Brutal, brutal, brutal.

Even if the officiating would have went the Bruins way, they would have still lost.

Canes are playing a simple game, loading up shots on net, forechecking tenaciously and hitting hard.

We're doing none of those things.

That's why we're losing.

Agreed. I didn't think it was possible to suck more than Game 3... but guess what I was wrong.

And you see... This is the reason that I started this thread.

I was PISSED at the officials. I think my only two posts in the GDT were about that very subject.

Did the Bruins execute? Not in the slightest.

But all too often, us Bruins fans on here don't give credit where it's due. Even if we HAD played that game with some composure... Even if we had more power play opportunities than the Hurricanes... Carolina STILL wins tonight. No excuses are necessary. No whining is needed. They played dynamite hockey, dives or not... And my hat is off to them.

Also, their fans are absolutely rabid. Much louder it seems that we are at the Garden. Two big-ass thumbs up to the Hurricanes tonight.

Yeah, I'm with you and commend your thread. I wish I could disagree but I can't. It's friggin' disgusting.

- We're not going to win when we only get the puck on net 21 times.

- Specials teams will make or break teams in the playoffs. In the second round, it's breaking us.

The Canes are all over our defense and our confidence is shot. Reminds me of past years. Big defense, not very mobile. Wideman is not much a skater. Ward is brutal, Montador is a mess. Chara is well...not playing well. Tough to get the forwards the puck in good spots when the two man forecheck eats you up. We are done.

This x 50....

These Canes know what it takes to win in the playoffs and it shows. Unfortunately the B's have yet to adjust.

They're putting on a playoff hockey clinic...we should be paying them for this.

there were some some bad calls and no calls but i really think our confidence is shot. 2 post in the 1st, kinda sucked too. we get that first goal it is a whole different game. the team has been streaky all year. might have to do with confidence. They get that next win, i see them taking the series. carolina in 5 or boston in 7..

Chara penalty...meh,but the play was offside too and refs missed it.Jokinen dives twice no call,Chara hauled down late in game no call...Im more pissed about this game than the OT loss.It was disappointing to lose in OT,but to be honest tonite the bruins come back in 2nd playing good hockey and then the reffing just sucked the whole momentum in the 3rd,very inconsistent and I thought they were intimidated by the crowd.

Having said that, we are not winning the battles and we are not testing Ward enough although if you listen to TSN,he is playing over the top...screw off Pierre Mcguire

I'm losing confidence in Claude Julien by the minute this series. He is getting completely out-couched by Paul Maurice. It's starting to appear the Devs and the Habs were onto something.

This is what I'm thinking.

This Bruins team makes the post-season next year, they can sit and watch tapes of this series. See? This is how you WIN playoff hockey. Determined. Smart. Calm.

This is a young team. I don't expect more from them than what they've given me. If we're in the playoffs next season, I want to see a different team. One that's learned something from this year. I suspect I will.

Most of the officiating sucked really (f...ing) bad tonight. But that's not what lost tonight's game... and seriously, anyone that thinks so wasn't watching the Bruins play tonight.

There's no debate on who has been the best team the last 3 games.
