Gonchar out, to be replaced by Goligoski.

Edit: Gonchar is said to be a game-time decision.

Play a team game. Trust each other.

Alzner and Fehr have fresh legs and good hockey sense. But they have to actually PLAY.

We've got to be calm when playing defense. And fire as many shots as possible at MAF.

Go Varly!

We need some of this tonight. Mix it up AO. Set the tone and lay the wood! Make Crosby "lump it"!

i believe the two losses were my fault, as i haven't watched either of the last two owing to travel. i shall be watching today. the caps will therefore most assuredly win.

What's the over-under how many times the player with 'the strongest lower body in hockey' gets 'knocked' over with a push to the shoulder?

I am thinking that Ovi is our pest. Probably because we dont have any other forward remotely close to being one, he has taken on that role. But he just flies around so much so hard so fast so often, pounding defensemen is going to result in injuries. Opposing fans cant love him forever. Did he shoot a puck at Scud at the end of game? Pens fans better not mind since Mario did it to us once or twice.

What would a strong lower body have to do with his shoulders?

He worked the refs on that one, gotta give credit where its due. He put backstrom in a place where he was likely to get a call. Despite being a strong skater, he fell over like a... he embelished. The refs bought it hook line and sinker.

Agreed. I have no problems with it. He's good at that act and it works. I wish some of our guys were as effectviely subtle. But many of them don't do little things. And when you're being outplayed you don't get those calls.

Just wanted to highlight for those to dumb not to notice it.

LOL that little stinker works the refs. Some guys are just better at it than others. It seems like its coachable though. What is that old addage, if you arent cheating a little bit, you are probably not trying hard enough?

I still cant get over how many times the pens feigned injury. I had never seen two D do it at the same time. Orpik and Gonch got a very quick whistle and then tried to stay in the game, obviously not injured.
