Agreed but in hindsight, the timing of that one was critical for the Caps. When you've called a penalty in overtime on one team and they obviously interfere with a player while on the PP, 99 times out of 100 they're going to make the even-up call. I'm glad they didn't but I'm just sayin'.

Boudreau double-shifts the hell out of that line in general, and has been doing so all series. Just another reason why I don't think this guy is as great a coach as many people make him out to be, mainly due to his over-dependence on that line in particular to pull through for him.

He is elite. We better get used to it, because he is going to be part of this Washington team for a long time.
I'm not trying to discredit Backstrom as a player AT ALL, as I think the guy is incredibly talented and right next to Federov he's probably the best 2-way player on this team. All I'm saying is that in terms of the offensive aspects of the game, I haven't seen all that much to brag about from a team that came into this series as apparently the most dangerous offensive team in the league. I mean, I believe AO actually has as many goals in this series as the rest of the team combined!

When they are scoring, it is always those lines as i suspected, but not after onslaughts, but either quick shots or quick 2 o 3 man rushes up the ice. Not nearly as hard to handle in general cause there is rarely constant pressure.
I definitely felt that the Pens were given way more trouble in their own end on ES situations against the Flyers than they have been against the Capitals. I was always under the impression that the Caps were a more fierce and persistent forechecking team on 5 on 5 situations, but I simply don't feel that they've shown that side of their game too often in this series.

We won this game with a very ordinary Sid. Geno and Staal with two points each. That is the difference between the two teams. Suddenly, they are getting nothing from anyone other than Ovechkin, just as we weren't getting anything early on from anyone but Sid.

This series has been both draining and exhilirating but it's time to end this bad boy on home ice Monday night.

Mad props to Miro Satan. Exemplary attitude during the bad times, and he's come back a new man. Two huge assists the last two games. Hey, when you aren't scoring, at least chip in with assists. And he's working his tail off, too. It's great.

Staal, 1 goal, 1 assist, +2, 4 SOG

Somehow it didn't seem like he actually played that well.

That's a LONG SHIFT.

Yeah, when you add that it came in OT of a back-to-back Playoff game, it makes it nothing less than a Herculean effort, if i'm spelling that right.

I would also like to thank Gina, she's been clutch the last few games!
