Where is Selanne23904823948 ?

His God Semin is pulling a major chokejob.

Here's to hoping Semin plays a little better tonight.

Sigh. It's a safe move by Bruce not to put him is all.

Now isn't the time for safe though. I'm stupidly optimistic that this is posturing and that Brash will be in the lineup.

I didn't see this posted anywhere yet, and I just read it, but Tarik El-Bashir has a possible excuse for Green's lackluster offensive output. Turns out Green ran out of his, now discontinued, favorite stick and he has been "adjusting" to what he has to use now. You can read the entire El-Bashir entry in the Capitals Insider here:

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/cap...new-stick.html

I've never played hockey, but I did play some Lacrosse for a time and when I broke my favorite Defense stick (well actually bent it really bad on an attackmen's thigh ) and had to get a new one it took a bit to get used to it so I sympathize to apoint. Then again I didn't play offense.

As much as I like the idea of beagle and his younger faster legs in there, i actually think Brash can have a bigger impact. Not withstanding impacting those punk ass defensemen, he is just a huge load, a pain the ass to deal with. He gives the Pens something to think about. No one on their roster wants to stand up to him when push comes to shove.

Unleash the Donald. He is hungry.

Granted that might cause a problem for a player, playing with a different stick, but it just seems like Green isn't the same Green. I hope he doesn't have some some injury that the Caps don't want to disclose yet keep playing him. I read somewhere that after Calgary dropped to the Hawks it turned out that a few of their players did play with minor injuries that affected their play. Imjussayin'.

We still gonna win tonight though.

This team knows elimination games. They say they coast at the end of the season cause they look forward to the playoffs. Well guys, show me how important it is to you.

I can personally say that it can make a huge difference in confidence of the player.

In my case, after Innovative was bought by Warrior hockey, they discontinued my favorite blade pattern (Mogilny's) and it took me a while to find a great stick that was almost as good. I use warrior mac-daddy Smyth curve. (Which is now discontinued too... great eh?) I bought 3 of em so I'm good for now.

I dunno what it is like to play at that high level, but I would imagine a difference in equipment for someone as skilled as Green, makes a HUGE difference.

5-1 the last 2 years in Elimination games. Step it up now.

About an hour to go. Can't wait for some Caps hockey to go down.

i have a mac daddy fedorov and its a great stick. But re: Green he should know this was coming and maybe he did but wouldn't he have been trying over the season to break in a new model. oh well.

The Caps are an inexperienced team. I think the Penguins have taken advantage of that to some extent. This situation, being at elimination, the Capitals are experienced with. More experienced than Pittsburgh and I think they certainly will have a level of confidence that they know they can do it. No fear.

I am not sure what to expect, I would not be surprised to see the Caps deliver another win in an elimination game.
