Roenick playing tomorrow

Sorry if this belongs in the update sticky above.

Roenick expected to return against Islanders
VOORHEES, N.J. (AP) — Flyers center Jeremy Roenick decided to return a game ahead of schedule following his recovery from a broken jaw and concussion.
Roenick said he will play Thursday night at home against the New York Islanders. He was hit by a shot off the stick of New York Rangers defenseman Boris Mironov on Feb. 12, and the two injuries threatened his career.
He most likely will wear a protective cage for about another month to guard his jaw.
“I figured it was enough time to heal, it’s been six weeks now,” Roenick said after Wednesday’s practice. “Six weeks was the parameter. And I knew going in that the playoffs were about two months away, so I had a good chance of coming back.”
Roenick said he isn’t concerned about the possibility of being a target against the Islanders.
“You don’t want to go out and kind of be standoffish or protective,” he said. “You want to go in there and really test it.”
Mark Recchi missed practice and could be sidelined Thursday after his throat was cut by a skate Tuesday night at Carolina. He received 19 stitches but the cut reopened early Wednesday and he needed more stitches.

Recchi needed to sit a few moments anyway. He has been absolete out there lately. The whole team has looked uninspired. That Toronto loss took something out of them and hopefully JR can put it right back in. Too bad he won't be crashin and bangin.

It's great to see JR out there again, I hate most of the Flyers except for him, Amonte and LeClair......Team USA boys!

NICE!

man, Roenick should be flying out there tomorrow!

I just can't wait till we are healthy. I would like to see Desjardins and Primeau come back a few games before the playoffs start to get his legs in game shape.

I remember a long time ago, towards the beginning of the Lindros drama, JR and Erica were concussed at about the same time. Clarke used to call the Lindros's to tell them how JR was progressing and what a warrior he was, which as you can imagine didnt go down to well with E or his parents. This is exactly the reason Clarke overpaid to get JR, he fights to get back in the game. When people hink opf the Lindros trade, they usually compare what we got (KJ, Brash, Kap), but at least half of the equation people forget is that by dumping E, we saved enough salary to sign JR that off season.
