Anyone want to guess Caps Injuries?

Bruce confirmed Green is injured, and that OV wouldnt be playing in the regular season with what he had. He didnt want to disclose the injured tonight because it might sound like an excuse.

I think Green either has a shoulder issue or a concussion.

As far as OV? who knows, It didnt seem like he was playing hurt.

Green is probably his shoulder. It's been hurt ever since Pronger hit him in November. I don't know about Ovechkin.

Im thinking groin/lower body for Ovie.

Shoulder or concussion for Green.

Semin with a wrist something or other.

i was hoping you'd post that picture of green's face smashing into the boards in the ny series. whatever's wrong with him, it happened then.

I'm hearing at least seven Caps, including several of the team's best players, were playing through various ailments in this round.

Green had a bum shoulder, the same one he hurt in Anaheim. Tom Poti had a broken foot, which he suffered in Game 1 of this series. Ovechkin was battling a groin injury. Alexander Semin was also hurt, though I'm not certain of his injury. I did hear, however, that the injury likely would have sidelined him in the regular season.
We'll find out more on Friday.

i think Ovechkin won't get it released most likely.

I figure there's a Bradley or a Clark there. At least one of the lunch pail guys has something.

Green I would bet shoulder. His mustard on his wrist shots is telling. However, even more of a pain is the stick thing. He is a good enough player where he can get his own setup and made. Get on it.

I'm certain Erskine's got to get some work done. He looked like he was on one leg.

Who knows for Semin. I'm not certain Bruce would have ripped him as hard as he did if he wasn't at least 70-80%. I would wager back more than anything else.

This one?

You could tell he's been injured. It sucks that he gets grief for his play...but it is what it is.

He'll be back and better next season.

yeah, that's the one. no way that happens with no injury. that play was at full speed. he was lucky not to go out on a stretcher.

Is that the same shoulder that he landed on with the Pronger hit?

I think it is.

would make sense. I've a sneaky feeling he probably could have used surgery when he first got it, but tried to rest it and it became manageable.

Then the getting it pulled in the Atlanta game and a few hits or two (especially the one above) and I have a sneaky feeling he was playing with basically one arm.

agree about the grief that Green has been getting. I felt like we were on the verge of the whooping starting again.

BTW...there is no way Green was playing with a concussion. That would be a violation of league policy. A concussed player must be cleared to play. The shoulder is believable because he was not shooting the puck.

Well...remember the game that somebody dragged him down by the arm and he clearly hurt his shoulder? That might be where this thing came from.

Green hurt his shoulder(s) multiple times this season, Pronger, TB and then during the Rangers series. I was to the posters ragging him here.

Ovie, probably a groin, same with Poti (as well as the afore mentioned foot);

Semin with a hand/wrist injury;

Some of the third liners too.

This was a banged up team that was spent. Learning experience for the GM and the team heading into next year.

My issue regarding Green was that it was obvious he was hurt and I thought the coaches did a poor job with managing his ice time given the situation., esp. with the back to backs Given the minutes Beagle played, why not dress Sloan or another d-man as a 7th D, esp. with Poti and Erskine also playing through lower body injuries. Manage the ice time better, have a dman for when a dman goes to the box and moderate Green's minutes. There has to be something else along with his shoulder, but even if it is just the shoulder, it impacted more than just his shot. I commented about a possible lowgrade concussion to someone a week or more ago, but agree with the person that noted the team wouldn't have been allowed to let him play if they knew. Any chance he had mono or something more than the flu when they were talking about him being sick that sapped energy along with the shoulder injury? Again, we know there is something, perhaps we will find out, but I still don't get the TOI management in this series. (oh and it is painful to look at that picture)

Semin - wrist/hand and possibly back?

Ovechkin - you are probably right about the groin injury as he was during the season

I thought Laich might be playing through an injury.

Green threw many monster hits. That harvey wall banger is certainly the top suspect and would imply his left shoulder IMAO. I remember him nailing guys after that hit, and he took plenty of abuse as well. Yeah I got crow feathers in my mouth

Hearing 7 guys were hurting sounds like we were on our way to the east coast final or finals. Classic playoff walking wounded that should surprise no one. We have to expect that and prepare next year, sit guys and make your callups next time Bruce. Add depth at the deadline George. Or make them hit in the regular season so come playoff time, you already know who can hang.

If Green was that bad, Bruce should've played Alzner/Sloan/Helmer. Stop with the excuses. We would've gotten as much production out of these guys that Green gave us. Anyone know Green's =/- for the Pens series?

It doesn't matter now, but this is why a team has to have 3 real scoring lines. Relying on Semin-Backstrom-Ovy was wonderful for the regular season, but what happens if Semin is hurt during the playoffs? A little more secondary scoring is the key, guys.
