What first rounder would you prefer?

Allright, I'm not assuming we make the playoffs or anything like that, that'll still be a huge battle just to get in, but if we do make the playoffs, who would you rather see in the first round between Colorado and Detroit?

Personally, I'd prefer Detroit. We'd have a better chance of the upset vs them than Colorado IMO. Defensivly Detroit is as sound as they come, but I think that's a head to head matchup that we can handle. We should be able to outskate them for an entire series and win that way.

Colorado on the other hand, is the type of matchup we couldn't handle IMO. I don't think we'd be able to shut down all their offensive guns, and I think we could easily get burnt badly against them.

Anyways, that's just my opinion, and it's all hypothetical at this point anyways, but who would you rather see?

Who said that we won't end up playing SJ? I think we might even finish ahead of CGY. CGY with no coach for another game. We're only 4 points back. Let's keep it going.

Am i too optimistic? I'm cautiously optimistic.

Wouldn't it be fun to shove it down CGY's throat if we finished ahead of them.

I Want Dallas

DALLAS !
dALLAS !
daLLAS !
dalLAS !
dallAS !
dallaS !
dallas !

Ya see, the more you say it, the smaller they get. IT's time, we're due, and we have the manpower to put dallas in it's place !

Cheers,
Geoff.

I picked Detroit, but it doesn't really matter to me. As long as they make the post season I will be happy.

I would rather play any team in the league before Detroit and their deadly Power Play, Except the Avs with Forsberg. He could play by himself and beat anyone in the league, he dominates the game like nobody has in a very long time. If he played all season, the Avs would ahve well over 100 pts in the standings. HAving said that, i'm going Oilers over Wings.

who has the better goalie, detroit or colorado ?

exactly they are as far as im concerned both as good as each other. Avs do have a great offence but I still see Detroit as a better overall team. I'd rather therefore take anyone in the top 4 it doesnt matter, SJ and Dallas are only a few points back.

Hatcher or Forsberg...that's a tough decision.

I'd rather play Detroit. Forsberg always kills us, and with our luck, Aebischer will get hurt and Salo will come in and play the best hockey of his career.

Detroit is tempting to face. They are so banged up right now. I like how fragile their goaltending has been this year too. They are of course, the best team in hockey, so obviously they are great, but if there is room for an upset, I could see it being them.

EDIT: lol just noticed that I voted for the Avs earlier! Someone (ie: ME) is too damn excited to even care who we play!

Let's just secure a playoff berth first, then we take-on who is up next!

I guess we have to choose the lesser of two evils...I think I'd rather face Detroit even though we haven't beaten them this year. Detroit has shown that even though they have a great team, they can be eliminated in the first round like we've seen last year.
Colorado is too scary...

Weren't the Avalanche beaten in the first round last year as well? Granted, it wasn't a sweep, and they were actually up 3-1 at one point, but they still went home after one round of the playoffs.

I would rather see Colorado because outside of Sakic, Tanguay, Blake and Foote they are a team without heart, which is where the Oilers are loaded. But I believe the Avs will finish 3rd and either San Jose or Dallas will be 2nd. In that case I prefer the Sharks.
