Brisebois might not play again this year

La Presse is reporting that Brisebois' injury isn't healing... at all. Brisebois said he's not sure if he will play at all this spring. Habs don't want to disclose the exact nature of the injury.

Funny cause the Gazette this morning said that Breezy practised yesterday and might make the trip to Buffalo.

Seems to me he wouldn't be practising if it was that bad.

Brisebois was on TQS last nigth and he said that he might missed the rest of the season and probably the first couple of games of the first round.

I did practise, we saw him skate, but he was not able to push with his right leg.

Marinaro is hinting [Team990] that his "sources" tell him that it is a foot injury. Consider it a playoff injury so be skeptical about anything you read from now on.

I hope he isn't hurt that bad, but unless he's in a cast I can't see him missing any of the playoffs. Even if he couldn't push off very well with one foot, he was still able to skate. Playoffs are still two full weeks away, that should be plenty of time to heal.

Hopefully we will see Brsiebois in action before the playoffs start, or at least at the beginning of the post season.
I think it would be a tough loss for the team if he doesn't make it back for the playoffs.

Well, all kidding aside about his past misadventures, this man is now a team leading +19 on the +/- and is 21st in the league in that stat. He is playing very solid, simple and GOOD hockey right now that he would be missed, even if it was for a few games in the first round. Here's hoping that some time off will help his injury heal and his return will be quick and completely injury-free.

Well if Breezy is out longer than expected, this could be a HUGE oputunity for Komo. The playoffs will really give him a lot of experience to improve his game because of the intensity and speed.

I guess no more debating about who will play between Q and Komo, ehhhh! LOL!

Who would have thought that at this time of the yr we (the fans) would be saying that losing Brisebye to injury is a bad thing.

This yr truly is a magical season for the Habs !

With Brisebois out, Komo AND Quintal will play ! I am happy that Komisarek will get a chance but I am also afraid that we cannot afford to loose any of the top six d-men we still have before or during the playoffs. Dykhuis is definitely not the solution... Would you like to see Traverse back in Montreal in case of injury ?. Me, NO !

Souray-Quintal
Markov-Rivet
Bouillon-Komisarek
Dykhuis

With the depth that Montreal has on right defence, I'm sure they told Breezy take all the time you need and a little more. There is no danger of them missing the playoffs, and the only thing they are really competing for at this point is position. Better to have a healthy, rested, Brisebois and a game ready Komisarek for the playoffs. Should work to benefit everyone.

What I found really odd was that Breezy was quoted saying:

"If it were the SC final, would I play? Well, maybe..."

Wow, for a guy not to play a SC final game, this injury must be serious.

Right. I was not looking forward to the inevitable removal of Komisarek from the lineup for the next game based on veteran priority status only, because truthfully, Komisarek has been playing much better hockey than Quintal lately.

Now no need for a controversy (yet), Quintal and Komisarek will both play, probably until the end of the season. I would still like to see Komisarek remain with Souray, since he's learning from the best, gaining much needed confidence, and doing a better crushing job than Q. But I'm guessing Quintal will get that spot back unfortunately as soon as tomorrow.

LOL, we better get used to this, guys, we've been out of the playoff loop too long. One day he's out for the season, next day he's playing.

HA! He must have read my post and realized that we're on to his little European getaway, so he wisely decided to cancel it.
