OT: Mike Komisarek; sign him?

This thread should be fun, but objectively speaking if you could have him at $4.5 or 5 mill per, would you entertain this?

Sláinte!

He doesn't help our defense in the way it needs to be helped.

Not a puck-mover and takes lots of dumb penalties.

Yeah. I'd love to sign him. But the B's can't afford him. And another puck mover takes priority.

Over my dead body.

Besides, he isn't any good, doesn't fill our need (puckmoving d-,man with some footspeed), takes a ton of stupid penalties, is a coward and would cost too much money.

He does not fit the structure of our team in any category. Plus, he's going to the West anyway, somewhere he can avoid Lucic. I could see him going to L.A.

Komisarek's not worth the money he'll command and he's definitely not the type of player we should be going after anyway.

Only as a punching bag for Lucic in warm-ups.

Not if he played for free.

I really hope the Habs' keep him. I'm looking forward to his years of beatings at the hands of Looch.

How do you sign Komi, trade Bergeron? Kessel?

No thanks.

If the B's are going to add anything close to a high profile player, it should be a speedy, competent, top-4 puckmoving defenseman.

They've got big physical D that aren't fast and aren't great at moving the puck out of the zone. They need a completely different type of defenseman than Komisarek is.

Here I am;

Pros of signing Komi;

1. Lucic will be much less likely to break his hand on Komi's head while they are teammates.
2. Kaoz, myself and a few others would finally get the chance to prove once and for all that "we wouldn't root for Komi if he were on the Bruins".

Cons of signing Komi;

1. He's gutless.
2. If the contract is for more than about 800K - they could throw a dart and get better value.
3. He's regressed almost every day since he joined the NHL.
4. He's gutless and dirty.
5. He's not very good in transition.
6. He's not very good defensively.
7. He's gutless, dirty and a big wuss bag.
8. He's not very good offensively.
9. He's not a good teammate.
10. He's gutless, dirty, a big wuss bag and not a smart player.
11. He's not very good at hockey.
12. He's a selfish player.
13. He's an undisciplined player who can get rattled and made to take dumb penalties.
14. Every single game that he played as a Bruin would kill a little bit of my soul.
15. He doesn't pass, shoot or play defense very well.

I'd rather drink a gallon of gasoline, light my house on fire, and piss on it.

So no.

I wonder if he might be a better player on a team where being "the physical guy who hits and fights" is someone else's responsibility and he can just focus on being a hockey player. It's worked that way before.

Not worth the money for what would basically be a reclamation project however.
