Avs get: Top 5 defenseman, young checking line center, pick to help rebuild.

Ducks get: Two solid defenseman (both signed), and a young scoring C/LW.

Wolski is one of the key components of the Avs rebuilding. Pronger is a (dirty) stud, but he will hinder our rebuilding because he improves the team.

Rebuilding doesn't mean the team has to be bad, unless the goal is tanking. A guy like Nigel Williams would only benefit with Pronger as an influence.

He hasn't been as physical as he was expected to be when he was signed, but he's solid positionally. Despite common belief, the Avs defense was that bad this year: 9th fewest shots allowed in the league. The reason for the glaring minuses were the men between the pipes.

Wolski is intruiging but it's no where enough value for Pronger, especially considering the Avalanche would be dumping two overpriced defensemen on the Ducks. If Colorado is rebuilding what's the point in acquiring Pronger??

Ducks don't have an '09 second either.

He's awesome, and probably have five or more good years left in him. He's the ultimate Red Wing hater; it would be a shame if he never plays for Colorado in his career.

It really depends on if Pronger would sign an extension, it would suck to give up good players...and Clark for Pronger if he just decides to leave...for nothing.

Cloutier couldn't change him; Cloutier only messes up our young guys. Over the years, the defensemen we've already developed (Foote) or acquired and were developed by someone else (Blake) have been fine.

It's not just young players. Look at how Salei has played this season in comparison to last season.

The Ducks wouldn't trade Pronger within the conference unless it was an overpayment.

I don't see Colorado making this trade, to much youth leaves the team. With Sakic nearing retirement, I don't see them moving Wolski.

I'm sure the Ducks would find Wolski intriguing, but I doubt they'd be interested in swapping Hannan for Pronger. Not to mention the amount of salary that is going the Ducks way.
