Not your fault, but it appears that your prediction is going to be false.

I thought Cole had a great game going last night before the injury. One assist on a great setup play, and nearly had a 2nd if not for a goalie interference call... which was the right call on that play IMO, but the point has to be taken that Cole nearly set up a 2nd goal.

I agree, I thought that was the best game I've seen Cole play likely all playoffs to this point. He looked really beat up or just dead tired in the end of the B's series. Any word on him?

Agree. I actually thought Erik was one of, if not our best player last night.

I agree for sure. He was all over the place prior to that knee on knee. I think that's part of the reason Cooke targeted him.

As of noonish today, Mike Maniscalco (the guy that does Canes coverage for 99.9) said that they had an appointment to get his knee checked out this afternoon. The one thing he did say though is that it seems likely that Ruutu's injury is more serious then Cole's at this point.

Really? According to Ruutu he says he should be ready to play Game 2. Of course, he's a competitor so he's going to say that but he seemed pretty confident.

I think it was just speculation on Mike's part. I'll be absolutely thrilled if Ruutu returns and it was nothing more then just an ankle sprain or the like.

Remember how good Matt Cullen used to be in the shootout with that leg-kick move? It's the same story with Erik Cole. He's a one-trick pony that has been figured out by 99% of NHL defenders. That's why his production has declined and will continue to do so.

I'll be very glad when this joke of a hockey player is off the team. Cole's one move used to generate scoring chances for the Hurricanes, now all he does is turn the puck over and generate scoring chances for the other team.

Get a REAL winger for Staal and you'll see consistent good numbers from him like in 05-06. Cole just happened to come back during one of Staal's classic end-of-the-year hot streaks, that is all. Unfortunately none of the idiots in our media have or will notice this, so we'll have to hear all ****ing offseason about what a tragedy it will be to lose Erik ****ing Cole and his 2 ****ing goals in 32 games because, you know, he makes Staal better.

Remember how I used to bash Matt Cullen so much? Well, now Matt Cullen is out of my doghouse because Erik Cole just sucks so ****ing bad that it's hard to criticize someone else. I'd rather have Patrick Eaves or Ryan Bayda play on the top line. Heck, bring back Craig Adams and put him there.

Cole tried his best. He had several nagging injuries, so the speculation says. He's still my favorite player and I hope he comes back next season and scores 30+ goals.

And I hope everyone on the team has an all-star season and we go 16-0 in the playoffs.

I think that's about as likely as Erik Cole scoring 30 goals next year

Right, but he'll be in Senators uniform after we trade him for Joe Corvo.

We had a Senators fan coming to this board and kept telling us that Eric Cole would be traded to Ottawa for Joe Corvo and it was good for both teams; and that he was right and we were wrong; we knew nothing about hockey. Last time he came, he called us losers.

So the joke stuck...

If someone tells you - "I am right and you are wrong. You know nothing about hockey. You are a loser; you are a loser" , it's a joke.
