Mitchell a star in play-offs!

Mitchell is currently tied for first in the OHL scoring derby. Plymouth is up on Kitchener 2 games to 1, after losing 5-4 in Kitchener last night. Plymouth lost their starting goalie Paul Drew for the play-offs last week in an off-ice incident. Corey Locke and Mark Mancari will most likely be well past Mitchell following their third game against Brampton, but Mitchell's play has still been very strong.

OHL Scoring Leaders
1. Mark Mancari Ottawa 67's 2GP 3G 3A 6PTS 4PIM
2 John Mitchell Plymouth Whalers 3GP 2G 4A 6PTS 2PIM
And how are our other prospects doing, in the WHL D'Amour hasn't played yet because Gantineau got a bye in the 1st rd.

check out www.whl.ca for all your answers... i'm pretty sure things are looking bleak for swift current(williams and white) who have been very inconsistent since the trade of aaron rome, as they are down 2-0 in the series. sagat has some points but kootenay is down 2-0, and vancouver is in tough in their series, 1-1 (marsh is contributing, todd ford has yet to play a game). shaun landolt and calgary look to be on their way out as well, down 2 games to none early.

Swift Current has scored only 2 goals in their 2 games. Williams has one of them. White has an assist. WHL leading scorer Tyler Redenbach has no points yet.

Kootenay has scored 4 goals in their 2 games. Sagat has assisted on 2 of those goals.

Great to hear Mitchell is doing well in Plymouth.

the wheels fell off the swift current wagon last year as well... guess it doesn't pay to be a one-line team in the play-offs.....

That kind of Tough ...Their opponents Medicine Hat are the top team in the Eastern Conference of the WHL ...So Swift Current are big underdogs in this series and both games are on the road ..Wait till they get some home cooking in them then you will see some goals...

i don't really see Swift Current as big underdogs b/c of the standings... they only finished 4 wins behind Medicine Hat in the standings .... and finished the season off 1-8-1, including a 6 game losing streak... a month ago these teams were neck and neck for first place ... i think their big difficulty is they rely on williams and redenbach far too much ... and when the games get tight (i.e. down the stretch and in the play-offs), good teams can focus on those guys and neutralize the broncos offense.

Fair enough ...but I told you that Swift Current will be better at home ..

and after a 4 - 2 win ..Williams 1 and 1 and White a goal and 2 assists..

yeah, they needed that win or the series would have effectively been over. last change really benefits a team like s.c. imo. in junior, home ice is a huge advantage as well, since bus legs and walking around malls all day can turn players on the road into zombies.

and as you pointed out good coaches would line matchup at home with last change and try to shut down a 1 line team like Swift Current ..They have had some good production from Alex Leawitt line ..but basically that Williams gets shadowed on the road ..Just look at his PM's the first game to see if that chaecker got on his nerves...

Mitchell and Plymouth beat Kitchener 2-0 in game 4 to take a 3-1 series lead. Mitchell scored the second goal of the game on the powerplay during the second period (his third of the post-season). Not to take anything away from Plymouth who have been playing great, but Kitchener is playing without Mike Richards, and started their back-up goalie Brad Topping tonight as Carlo DiRienzo has been struggling. Plymouth's back-up Ryan Nie has been great in the absence of Paul Drew, who was injured prior to the series start.

This team is not as strong as Lasts years as Kiel McLeod and Jesse Schultz are both gone..

In regards to Sagat .. Doug is mistaken

Sagat recorded 2 assists in the 4 games , 1 in each of the first 2 games in the series...

anyways, will be interesting to see if sagat will join st. john's though. he is in the same boat turon was last year (i.e. he will be an over-age import next year - so probably will have to turn pro). st. john's doesn't have much to play for after losing tonight, so might as well give the kid some playing time. looks like williams and white might join him now as they are down 3-1 and Medicine Hat has two home games to go.

Are you currently sitting in a car in a closed garage with the engine running.. or perhaps you may have reached your limit on RUM BALLS for the evening..
