Kellan Tochkin

Hey anyone know anything about this kid?

The 5'10 177 RW for the Everett Silvertips of the WHL, scored a team leading 74 points in 72 games and 20 goals.

Hes draft eligible I believe born on Feb 15th 1991, I haven't next to anything about him though.

He's on Try out with the Canucks, could this guy be another steal? He's definately going to rip it up in Junior for sure. But at 5' 9" I don't know what to make of him. He's got all the skills in in the world but is VERY soft.

he's still 177 pounds which isn't all that bad, the problem is that his team didn't perform well at all, it's hard to judge those players I find in those situations

No he doesn't. He's a terrible skater.

Your absolutely right. The one glaring knock against this kid is his skating. Every team shied away from him because of it. He's on a try out with the Canucks but I doubt anything will happen.

I would have thought the knock on him would be how soft he plays, He plays 4 inches shorter than he is. And he's only 5' 9" to begin with.

Small, slow and soft? He's got to have some amazing puck skills to even get a tryout.

Well for 74 pts in your rookie season in the dub he must be doing something right.

Well you can scrap softness if you have amazing speed. Tochkin doesn't have it yet. It remains to be seen.

Guy is a Corey Locke type. Gets by on hockey sense and outstanding hands. Could be a terror in the WHL but anything beyond that is a stretch at the moment.

Will get some solid development within the Canuck system and this might help with the skating.
