Take out the second or I think that Toronto fan's will rip you apart. And to be honest I think that it's more fair without the second in it.

Overall a good proposal though.

Makes sense for both teams, but I'm not sure if Harding's value is that high to warrant upgrading from Schutz to Kaberle, 12th to 7th and get a 2nd.

With the second, I think Minny says yes. Without it, no.

Yeah, not that I care really, but the 2nd should be taken out. Not the direction I'd go though.

Not a bad offer... but Toronto is slightly overpaying IMO... maybe make the 2nd a 3rd or possibly our 5th...

But I really think that Burke has his eyes on somebody in the top seven, and will land him... soo...

Doesn't really work for Toronto..... the appeal of Nick Schultz isn't that high to justify moving Kaberle and down from 7-14 for Harding.

From Toronto's perspective, consider it a pretty close deal where its Kaberle + 2nd round for Schultz + 12th overall.... Josh Harding isn't worth a 7th overall pick in this draft.

Maybe you lose Schultz from the deal, lose the 7th overall, and Toronto adds in another asset like Ponikarovsky or something like that.

Lets hope Gustavsson signs in Toronto so that this deal is unnecessary.

Value wise, it favours Minny slighty. Decent proposal though.

Although, if there was another way to aquire Harding, I'd be all over it.

Minni has a similar player to Kaberle in Zidlicky, it would be an upgrade but not really needed.

If you give them a young player (Kulemin, Strahlman, Grabovski, Tlusty) then I'm sure they'd be listening.

Not moving down in the draft. Not giving up 2nds unnecessarily. I wouldn't do it.

I think its a bit too much to give up, but I could live with that deal to be honest.

Assuming Harding reaches potential, I'd be very ok with the deal, but he's about to turn 25 years old and only has 58 GP. I think its a little risky.

My fear in this is I'm crazy hesitant to trade for yet another goalie. We've lost enough assets in the last few years trying to find one. Which we had in Rask. I think Burke waits until next year to deal with our goalie situation. See if Toskala rebounds. If not then he'll look at other options. Until then I'd rather not pick up a goalie. All we need is a back up right now and hopefully with some luck we'll sign Gustavson.

I gotta admit, I don't see much of these guys. Can any Minny fans tell me about Harding and Shultz. I'm not entirely opposed to moving back in the draft, but it's gotta be for the right player. Personally I think Kabs can still land us either a great young player, or a prospect(7.5c+) and a 1st, and I'd rather have that I think.

Shultz is a quality Stay at home Defense guy. He can play a good amount of minutes and doesn't miss many games. The only games he's missed so far was due to an apendectomy. He doesn't make any stupid mistakes. He isn't known for his offense, but last year he looked more comfortable in the offensive zone. Still wouldn't expect much offensively though.

Harding is a very athletic goalie. He has a good SV% and GAA but has lost many games due to a variety of reasons; coming in relief, and for some reason the team forgets how to score when he's in net. He hasn't really gotten a chance to show what he can really do but he's made some terrific saves when he's had to. I think he can be a solid starter, not a superstar, but still a good goalie. Also He has some really cool masks.

thnx. Pretty much what I thought. Theres usually some great dmen coming out of Minny and PHO. With goalies, you really never quite know what your getting, playing in a defensive system. his stats are great, other than his wins.

How about Stajan + for Harding. They guy is only 25, signed to a great contract, and just had a 50 + pt season.

I don't see the need for Harding with Pogge and potentially Gustavsson in the wings.

This is not a bad proposal, but I'm desperately hoping the Leafs use the 1st round pick and assets acquired from trade (I'm hoping for Kubina, Poni, Stajan etc, but it might have to be Kaberle) to start to form a 1st line for down the road. There are just so many proposals that add defenders (Nick Shulltz will be 27 and makes $3.5 million), and few for forwards. Also, I'd like to think the Leafs have used enough assets on goalies.
