You need to develop these guys slowly much like the Senators did with Spezza. Much like Jacques Martin, Hitchock demands defensive accountability. For that reason, I think they should be sending these guys back for another year junior and a year of the Minors. That would benefit them greatly, imo.

I haven't heard anybody say they're defensive liabilities. They might be brought along slowly b/c of the Flyers depth at forward. 2 more years before they hit NHL may not be a bad thing. Hopefully Ruzicka develops as well. All of the Flyers top 6 six outside of Gagne-Handzus will probably be gone in 2 seasons.

I don't know if juniors will help Carter and Richards, they are already dominant in their league. Bring them up to the Phantoms, who are rather long in the tooth I think

Mike Richards is probably the best penalty killer in all of junior hockey, as far as fowards go. He was on the top PK unit during the WJC's so he know how to play both ways. Carter got some PK time too.

They are not old enough - either juniors or Flyers are the options next year.
You are correct about the Phantoms though.
They need to get the likes of Droz/Eager/Ruggeri/Korovkin in next year to see what we actually have. They will still have vets even with all those mentioned like Abel, Mcneil, Gainey for next year just to name a few who come to mind with AHL seasons.

I think I read that he had a mouth injury, me missed a couple games for Kitchener.

The official word is "undisclosed upper body injury" - his forearm/wrist is taped or in a cast. He's missed playoff games 2, 3, and 4 to date (game 5 is Friday night in Kitchener).

Any word on when he will be back?

I get to watch a few OHL games on sportsnet and would like to see him play.

He's officially listed as day-to-day. Kitchener is down 3-1 to Plymouth - if Richards doesn't play on Friday, it could be the end of the season for Kitchener.

If I hear anything definite, I'll post it.

Really? Did you realise Jonathan Cheechoo has 28? Who?

But I must say I supported Simon all the way with limited support.(I know who you are)!
