Top 6 in the Draft

I would love for Montreal to somehow move up in the Draft to pick any one of Duchene, Kane or Schenn. I think Duchene will go either #2 or #3 overall. The other two, who knows?

We need center depth. Maxwell will not cut it as our next great center.

Kane wouldn't help us at center. He's a natural winger.

Duchene will be a dream. Honestly, out of Tavares and Hedman, the one that excites me the most is Duchene. Not dissing the other 2, but Duchene will become a better Mike Richards. He's just the most complete player of this whole draft.

At our rank, you might have the chance to choose between the raw Holland or the more complete Shore.

Personally I don't think the Habs have the assets to move up that high, without overpaying and hampering themselves since imo a lot of our young players value has gone down after this past season, so I don't think Gainey has a lot of assets to move.

As for needing center depth, that's for sure, it's an area I assume Timmins will address this draft, as he has done in the past few drafts getting us D prospects when we needed them badly. I also would like to see us get a good goalie prospect as well, not a major concern but something I hope to see addressed, not impressed with Mayer, Missiaen I don't know what to make of and he's years away, Lacasse has really grown on me as I used to think he was the worst prospect in our system but have at least seen some good things from him and Desjardins I'm not a huge fan of, and want to see more of what he can do in the AHL.

I'd love to get any of Duchene, Kane or Schenn but I don't see it happening personally.

I don't think we will get him as it would be unrealistic for the Avalanche to let him go when Sakic will retire soon.

Schenn is, I don't think Patrick and Evander Kane are related.

Gotta say I've never even seen a pic of Evander Kane until now.

Maybe Mrs. Kane spent some time with the milk man?

like people have said before i dont think we have the assets to move up into the top 6, without giving up WAY to much.
does anyone think scott glennie will be around at 18?

A Waste of Assets

Perhaps, if we hadn't squandered our assets to acquire Tanguay, Lang and Schneider in a vain and futile effort to improve a clearly flawed team, we might have been in a position to move up in the draft.

What mis-management. Is it any wonder we have only won 2 championships in the last 30 years?

That is all.

Lang was our leading scorer before he got hurt.

Tanguay and his line carried us into the playoffs with their hot streak.

Schneider made our powerplay lethal after it was terrible all year.

Get a ****ing clue.

Halak, 1st this year, 2nd next year, Higgins, and our 5th this year for Colorado's 1st and 6th.
Colorado is 3rd overall, and we would get one of Duchene, Tavares or Hedman, Win-Win-WIn

Trading a first from last year and a couple of second rounders for this year won't lend you a top 3 pick.

That team was so flawed that they were first in the east the previous season. And that flawed team got rid of paper plane Ryder and IHL superstar Smolinski and replaced them with Tanguay and Lang.

So you're telling me that you were able to predict that the Canadiens would get tons of injuries this year and have all of their young players underachieve? Please send your CV (or better, just your crystal ball) to the Canadiens.

From what little I've seen of him, Drew Shore looks like an interesting player. What are people's thoughts on him?

We've got a ton of prospects on the blueline we could give up.

Subban or O'Byrne, Halak, our 1st + a roster player.

If our scouts think Duchene is worth it then we should at least try.
