Maybe the habs should mention to Gustavsson that we have one of the top goalie coaches in the NHL that could really help him bring his game to the next level.

The only reason I could see Price traded would be if he would asked and insisted for it. Could happen because of the treatment he received. I doubt however that the organisation would accept a 21 years 5th pick asking to be traded yet....you cannot force him to goal well.

But this is pure speculation anyway. I can guarantee that whenever a significant player will be available, there will be someone starting the rumor " X to Habs (e2)" or similar stuff.

Let's try to make a list of potential available players this summer that were not linked yet to the Habs - then just wait for the rumors to happen

And no reporters that will film him at his residence getting into his car, to make sure he's not lying about an injury.

to colorado?

anywho.

if they do get this guy, then i don't mind him and halak splitting the role until there is clearly a #1 goalie out of the 2.

Jeff Carter for price straight up? where do we sign!!

6'3 centre. nuff said.

Wow, i would do a Price/Carter deal. I mean even Luongo with a great team in front of him can't make it past the second round. What's Price going to do with a slapped together team for the next 2-3 years? I think it's time to gamble a bit. Besides, Halak is a good goalie, period. And this Gustafsson guy, though unproven could be really good. This is probably never going to happen, but when you think about it, it's a match made in heaven. Philly has always been, it seems, a goalie shy of going deeper in the playoffs, and Montreal has been looking for a top center for an eternity.

You can never have enough solid prospects, especially in nets. Bring this kid over if he wants to come. That way either way, we have minimum 2 capable goalies, and 1 as trade bait!

As good as he could become - if he really wants it - Price is burnt in Montreal. His off-ice behaviours and his reaction in the last game just pushed him out of Montreal. Let's try to get the most for him now !

Edmonton, Philadelphia, even Vancouver could be good destinations for him.

Didn't everyone want a veteran goalie to backup Price?

Now we're talking about getting another 24 years old guy to challenge for the #1 spot?

lmao, yes, Trade Price and sign Gustavsson.

This is the most brilliant plan ever conceived.

Seems that he's working hard so Gustavsson signs here 'cause it seems that the Habs are interested in him. I don't know if that piece of news was already out, but it seems that Mr. Gustavsson is already asking for a minimum of 40 games in the NHL for the team that want him. Which then makes the guy that e-mailed Lajoie to say that it would mean a trade involving Price and probably to the Flyers.

Lajoie said that this listener already told him 2 things that eventually ended up happening later.

Take it REALLY for what it's worth.

Personnally, there is no way that I see Gainey accepting to give a guy that kind of guarantee of 40-games without knowing how he'll do. And I also don't see that IF you trade a guy like Price, that even though the return could be Gagné, Carter or Richards, that you'll take the chance to trade him to an Eastern Conference team. So I don't believe it. The only way Gustavsson will have his 40-game guarantee is with the Avs.
The link between Johansson and Gustavsson is probably overrated here, but if I could surely see the Habs being interested. He'd make the perfect back-up for Price, and he'll be able to play a bunch of games as well. Halak could then be traded for assets.

The 40 game comment is just ridiculous. Gustavsson's GM mentions:

I think the Habs could be one of his 4 teams.

http://www.cyberpresse.ca/sports/hoc...teressante.php

He also mentions that he's as dominant as Lundqvist was in the SEL.

When you get a shot at a player of his calibre for free you sign and work it out later.
