And then offer a 2nd and prospect for Halak and be better off then they would have with the trade you proposed above..
What? Why? You make absolutely no sense in your reasoning (although I think I remember you're a Price basher...)
It is a pretty close trade. Some people on the colorado board were asking for a Price vs Stastny trade. Also, people have proposed a Carter vs Price trade, which is much closer, as Carter has a lot more value than Stastny.
You are underating Price's value and his accomplishments as rarely do young 20-21 years old goalies have vezina stats in their 66 first NHL starts in the regular season.
To me Price has more value than Stastny, who is good, but not a big centerman, and played with established players in the league like Hedjuk.
Switching a #3 pick for a #16 (or close to that, I don't remember the exact ranks of this year's draft) isn't that much of a trade off. To me it equals the bigger value of Price.
Laughed is a huge exageration. Colorado would think about it for a long time, I'm sure of that. And if they indeed think its too much, they wouldn't laugh, because the added difference isn't that big, all odds are, they might want the Habs to add a guy like Weber, which isn't much difference with the trade I proposed.
Next time please try to explain WHY it is a bad trade, instead of only trying to make it look like one with one-liners without any content. You're better than that post you made.
