Anyone watching the French Open?

The unthinkable just happened Robin Soderling took out Rafael Nadal in 4 sets... Nadal had *never* lost in Roland Garros before.

Not a fan of Nadal so I'm pretty happy. Got up and turned the TV on to see Soderling leading 2 sets to 1 with the 4th beginning. Great matchup, but Nadal out in the Eights is incredible.

With Nadal and Djokovic already out of the way, this is probably the best chance Roger Federer will get to complete his career grand slam.

i agree vicious it was my first thought while watching the match too... this is federer's best chance.

finally, ana ivanovic is out too so both defending champs are now out

That's not even close to a choke. Soderling was that good, he did all you have to do to beat Nadal.

It's a mandatory tournament, so you can expect everyone barring injuries.

I'll probably watch Wozniak against Serena, even though I don't like the Quebecoise's odds.

I'll also keep an eye on Azarenka, I attended her semi-finals against Safina in Mtl last year (first row), what a cutie *cough* player

I just heard they think Nadal threw the match to win big money.
I guess he has a gambling problem

Even if I'm a Federer fan seeing him lose was sad, because it removes the chance to see another epic final between the two guys. I ust odn't understand the crowd chanting Robin all game, I understand you can like underdogs, but Nadal is a class guy and he is very good, he brought a lot to this tournament so I don't understand how fast they can forget what Nadal did.

They're probably Federer fans who think Roger can't beat Nadal on clay. Like somebody said, this is Roger's best chance at winning a French Open.

You probably don't watch Tennis very often. Federer is one of the biggest sore loser since 2007. Yes, we call him a gentlemen because he was winning 9 out of 10 tournaments every year. Nadal was pissed today, but you gotta give credit to the french crowd, which is the toughest crowd to play (worst than NY). I don't like Hingis that much but I guess most of you remember when she did the underarm serve vs Graf and how the french crowd reacted. She was still a teenager a they booed for the rest of the match leaving her in tears after the match and they were still boing. When Chang did that same serve in '89, they all called him a genius. Anyways, I still wish Federer wins it, because he's the best ever IMO until Rafa proves me wrong in the next few years.

wozniak got beat soundly by s williams

nice payday for aleksandra though... about 100k US

its so weird to see a canadian singles player to make the final 16 in a grand slam.

Great Comeback by King Roger!
He found that 6th gear and cruised by Haas right before it was too late!
