Gotta hand it to Bob Gainey, I can't say there was a better candidate available. Excellent choice for this team.

Babcock is not available. If this Martin hire materializes though, I think it's telling - and encouraging - that the Habs were able to go after someone who was not supposed to be available and managed to hire him anyway.

so it's a done deal, oh well. Atleast now we have experienced coach, and a hell of a good asset to sign J-Bou

Which teams should've went to the finals? The ones with Yashin, McEachern and Lalime leading the way or the ones with Todd White and Radek Bonk as top 2 centers(with Lalime)? Do see last years Habs or this years Bruins as teams that should've went to the finals?

IMO, the one Sens team that really should've passed the ECF was the one that lost to the Devils in 03. And when you look at it, the one that did make the finals was even more stacked than the 03 team. If you look at players that Martin developped, they've become excellent all around guys.

My thoughts exactly. Perfect guy for the younger players and now an excellent time to get rid of Kovalev and Koivu if they're not willing to follow the coach.
