I believe most of those were Bruins fans... 4.5-5.5 I'd let him be signed.

3.75 cap hit, solid deal.

Time for Kessel.

Krejci is a good player, but does one good year transform into almost $4 million per year for a youngster like him? Naah.

His future is bright so Boston probably gets a good deal for the next three years, but still.

Maybe I'm biased, but the best contract in the league must be Zach Parises at $3,125,000 per year for two more years. Now that's an awesome deal.

No, I distinctly remember a lot of people on the Trade board stating those numbers.

I've posted this list before but Krejci's deal seems in the range with what other comparable players have gotten in the past few years:

Jordan Staal - $4 million
Nathan Horton - $4 million
Brad Boyes - $4 million
P.M. Bouchard - $4 million
Ales Hemsky - $4.1 million
Milan Michalek - $4.3 million
Alexander Semin - $4.6 million
Jeff Carter - $5.1 million
Corey Perry - $5.1 million
Mike Richards - $5.7 million

And yes, Parise's deal is a steal...enjoy it while it lasts because he's going to be in the $7 million range with his next deal.

I expected something like 10 years with a cap hit of 2,5 mil per year . Seriously , great deal for Boston .

He was actually good last year for a fourth liner most of the season. It wasn't until he was moved up that he started showing flashes of his potential. Hell, he was great for the Bruins in the playoffs back '08.

Do most Boston fans think this opens the door for a similar deal for Kessel? I see them as having fairly similar value - but being on the West Coast I don't have a lot in inside info on the Eastern teams.

True.

Most of the people trying to make Boston seem screwed and thus having to trade/ accept compensation for one of Krejci, or Kessel, or even lose both some people had...

Great signing for Boston...Krejci is a special player and really could turn into what Savard is now.

Extraordinary signing! That could turn into one of the best signings in the NHL if Krejci can continue to put up numbers similar to this season. So much for those 5$ mill/season estimates...

I'm very happy, this should be a great comparable to keep Versteeg's money securely in the "we can keep him" range.

Great deal.

I like it especially because of the fact that it lowers the value of an RFA in accordance with the economy going down. Take that, Lowe >=(

Good signing.

(sorry Kurrilino, there will be no offer sheet action for Krejci this time)

Yeah for sure. It should help with Kesler. Not exactly the same type of player but both young centers with similar value to their team. I think Kesler gets less than Krejci even with his selke nomination

For those who don't get to see him play, Krejci is the real deal. Not only did he put up over 70 points, he was among the very top players in the league in plus-minus, and he also never played on the 1st powerplay. He was just 22, and figures to get even better. This will be one of the best contracts in the league over the next 3 years. Amazing signing.

Great deal for Boston.
Good deal for both sides, in my mind.

correction, he had the highest +/- rating in the NHL at +37 and second was his linemate Wheeler at +36

Great deal for the Bruins. I defintiely would have thought he would have gotten around 4.5 mill after his year this year. If I was a B's fan I'd be jumping out of my chair for that. I liked the Staal deal for the Pens but this just makes that seem like dog ****.
